Caro was a great tour leader and did her best to make sure everyone felt safe, comfortable, included, and her passion for Colombia certainly helped us to fall in love with it! Every day was so different so we had a varied experience and saw so many sides to the country. My favourite place was Medellin and I found it fascinating to learn about the rich history from our lovely guide Federico and see first hand how much Medellin has changed. There's a lot of preconceived opinions about Colombia being dangerous and not a nice place but I can definitely say that is not the case! Every local person we met said hello and was really friendly whether that be just on the street or in restaurants and bars. The city tours and history provided for us was fantastic and I feel like I'll leave Colombia with much more knowledge that I can communicate to all of my friends and family. I absolutely love coming on trutravel tours and this is the only company I will travel with. Our tour leader Karo was brilliant throughout and was always on hand for us to answer questions and give advice and translate when needed. We got to see so many different types of cultures in one trip and it's been amazing. from doing tours with Federico and Cristian to wandering the streets with Karo, the tour was fantastic. The tour of Medellin with Federico was gripping, I could have listened to him talking all day. The coffee farm with cristian was so fun and educational too, I'm so happy we got to go and experience guatape with the team. It was a beautiful town to be in! Our plans had to change due to bad weather and some political issues but the alternative plans at minca were so much fun, climbing to the sunset view bar in minca and having a night out there was brilliant! You could feel that she was well connected to the locals and knows the places we visited very well! I really enjoyed my time in Colombia and can recommend visiting the place, as I always felt safe and the scenery and cities are beautiful! My favorite parts were Minca & Guatapé/ el Peñol! - ANatasha Medlen· August 14th, 2025Carolina was so so lovely, really kind and caring and reliable if anything ever went wrong or you needed anything - she’s also amazing in a crisis e.g. a stranger hit his head in one of the bars and she was so kind and instantly strung into action. Only small recommendations are that it would’ve been nice to get more recommendations from her on what to do in free time (e.g. for her to just be ready with suggestions of what meals she likes at that restaurant or other things we could book to do in our free time like optional activities. It’d also be good if she maybe asked us to meet 15mins before we need to leave or be somewhere so that there’s less stress in the minutes before (e.g. I felt we were being chased up 10 mins before the due time which made it slightly stressful even though we were still going to be on time). The tour includes a flight from Medellin to Santa Marta on day 4. The tour starts in Medellin and ends in Cartagena, so you will need to make your own way back to Medellin from Cartagena once the tour has ended. The Tour Leader can provide assistance with booking and planning onwards travel at the end of the tour, but this will need to be booked by the traveller.

We can provide a cover letter for your visa application but this can only be done once your booking is confirmed as we need a active booking ref. The full payment is due at this stage to get your booking confirmed.

We do not accept any responsibility for visa applications and the processing times surrounding that. If your visa application is declined, we cannot issue refunds for the trip as visa applications are not a service we offer, and therefore is not our responsibility. The deposit is non-refunable, and the full monies are lost if the trip is cancelled with less than 60 days to go from the trip starting. We can consider a date change as an option, but we can go through that as an option as and when necessary. You will need to contact us to let us know if you are wishing to change the date of your trip, and we will need to then look into the relevant fees etc from there.
