Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Bangkok
Your flight touches down at either Don Mueang or Suvarnabhumi Airport where your guide will be waiting in the arrival hall. From there, you'll head to your hotel in a private car, which typically takes between 30 to 40 minutes depending on how traffic's moving that day.
- Day 2
Bangkok
Start the morning at Wat Pho, Bangkok's oldest and largest temple, then move on to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew temple where the Emerald Buddha sits. After grabbing Thai lunch at a riverside restaurant overlooking the Chao Phraya River, you'll walk through Bangkok's Chinatown market and check out Wat Mangkon Kamalawat. Later that evening, take an hour-long ride on a traditional long-tail boat down the river to Wat Arun, where you'll see the intricately designed pagoda up close.

Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai
An hour's drive takes you to Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you'll wander through the Ayutthaya Historical Park with its grand temples. In the Muslim quarter, try Roti Sai Mai, a local snack that's popular in the area. After lunch, you're driven to Bangkok Airport for a 1-hour flight north to Chiang Mai, where your guide meets you and takes you to settle into your hotel.

Chiang Mai

Next comes Wat Phra Singh, showing off Lanna Kingdom artistry, and the day finishes at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep where two Naga serpent statues greet you at the base of 306 steps before you head back.

Elephant Nature Park, Chiang Mai
A 1.5-hour drive gets you to Elephant Nature Park, a genuine sanctuary where you'll see elephants living in herds and hear their rescue stories from your guide. You'll walk on a raised boardwalk overlooking them roaming freely and help prepare their food. Lunch is a vegan buffet with Thai and Western dishes, and afterward you'll continue watching how the elephants interact before the drive back to your hotel.

In the afternoon, it's a 2.5-hour drive to Chiang Rai with a stop at Wat Rong Khun (White Temple) along the way before checking into your hotel.

A 30-minute Mekong River cruise lets you see where all three borders converge, then visit the Hall of Opium Museum to learn about the opium trade, smoking tools, and kingpin histories. Afterward, explore the Akha and Yao Tribal Villages, mostly inhabited by immigrants from southwestern China, before heading back to your hotel.
