Sigiriya
Spend the morning touring Polonnaruwa, the old capital with its collection of stupas, religious sculptures, and ancient water systems. After lunch, drive to Minneriya National Park where you'll see elephants up close in their natural setting.

Sigiriya to Kandy
Start by climbing Sigiriya Rock Fortress early, then head to the Spice Gardens in Matale where you can walk through different plantings and learn how spices grow. Later you'll drive to Kandy and settle into your hotel for the night.
