You'll depart Cusco at 6 am and travel through mountain routes heading into the Sacred Valley. The drive takes you through some beautiful scenery before reaching Lares for lunch. Once you've eaten, the trekking starts from Bano Termales along an old Inca trail that follows the Rio Huacahuasi. You'll pass through rustic towns scattered along the route, and by evening you'll arrive in Huacahuasi where you'll stay with a local Quechuan community for the night.

This was a great experience! I would definitely recommend it. The itinerary was perfect, with the first day to acclimatize, second day summit, and third day return to Cusco. We even got to visit the hot springs in Pacchanta. My guide Irvin was simply amazing. He was super positive, motivational, and very knowledgeable. I would love to tour with Unu Raymi again.

    - what does "you can include hike to Macchu Picchu" mean? - if we are a group of 6, are we going to be other peoples or is it only 6 of us in the tour? - what is the sleeping situation? Do we need to have sleeping bags and camping gears? - do we need to carry our stuff or are there any porters? - are there any information about how much we actually walk each day? How many miles? How is the altitude situation? - saw that you offer Vegan meals so I assume we don't need to be worry about food situation?

The visit to Machu Picchu, and all logistics, is included as part of the trek package, you can either take the bus up to the citadel or hike up. We recommend the bus.

As you are a group of 6 we will operate the trek privately for you.

We will provide all the camping equipment, sleeping bags we hire at a small cost to cover the cleaning after your trek.

We have mules that carry trek equipment for the duration of the route, your excess luggage will go on the mules and your equipment will be available for you at each campsite. You will need to carry a daypack with your personal possessions that you require throughout the day.

You will be walking for around 6-7 hours daily, the altitude will range between 3,000-4,000m. It's important when you arrive here in Perú that you have some time acclimatizing, at a lower level in the Sacred Valley, for a day or two before you go on the trek.

We will cater for whichever dietary requirement you have; we have very good mountain cooks who know how to prepare good nutritious meals for whichever diet.

Just to double check, for Macchu Picchu, you will book the tickets and also bus for us as part of the package, correct?

    • Unu Raymi ExpeditionsOperatorWritten February 2024

Yes, we will manage the booking of the train tickets, bus tickets & entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, you will also be guided by our guide and you'll be taken care of the whole way throughout your trip with us.

Do you have any recommendations? What are the main differences?

    • Unu Raymi ExpeditionsOperatorWritten February 2024

With the four-day trek route you have a little more time in the mountains and can explore a bit more about the local culture and life in the Andes. They're both great routes, I would recommend either. If you have time then the four-day trek would be my first recommendation for you.
