The trail drops from Dragnag then ascends over a curvy moraine leading to Cho La Pass, the second pass on the trek. Rocky boulders add extra challenge, but the views at the top are remarkable with incredible glacier walls, snowy spires, and distant views of Everest and Gokyo visible on clear days. The descent to Dragnag is challenging due to the slippery trail so crampons are highly recommended. Once you arrive, check in to a teahouse.

Visit the Gokyo Lakes System, the world's highest freshwater lake system consisting of six major lakes. The turquoise blue waters invigorate the soul. Religiously, this lake system is considered the abode of snake gods, and during Janai Purnima in August, pilgrims dive into these pristine cold waters. It's a surreal experience exploring this unique lake system.

Getting there is challenging because the path is steep and icy, so consider the risks carefully. Walk slowly and breathe regularly for proper acclimatization. Once at the top, the views are entirely yours to enjoy. Some believe the Gokyo Ri views rival those from Kalapatthar. Descend back to Gokyo for the night.

The steep trail sometimes flattens, but even flat sections are challenging due to altitude. Reaching the top rewards you with a glittering panorama of Everest and Makalu. The descent to Lungden is also hard with icy terrain and stone stairs putting pressure on knees. Enjoy faraway views of the Himalayas.
