- Day 1
Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
After an early breakfast at your hotel, you're heading to the airport for that famous flight to Lukla, which is genuinely one of the world's most thrilling mountain flights. The small plane weaves through clouds and mountain ridges before touching down at Lukla airport. From there, you'll trek through colorful farmlands and mountain villages, passing through Chopulu and Ghat while taking in views of Kusum Kanguru peak before reaching Phakding for your first night.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Starting from Phakding, you trek along the west side of the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and seeing waterfall views at Tal and Bengkar, which is famous for apple pies. The trail winds through beautiful forests of Sagarmatha National Park where you'll check permits at Monjo. Along the way, you get glimpses of Mount Everest before arriving at the Kani Gate welcoming you to Namche Bazaar.

- Day 3
Namche Bazaar (Acclimatization Day)
This is your acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, a historic trading village with routes that once connected Tibet and Nepal. You can visit the Namche Museum to learn about the region's salt-trading history, check out scenic viewpoints, or take optional side trips to mountain villages. Head to Thame for mountain scenery, or visit Khumjung and Khunde to experience classic Sherpa culture and the Hillary Hospital founded by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1966.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
After acclimatizing, you trek to Tengboche, passing the Tenzing Norgay Memorial Stupa where you'll get your first views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse Shar, Taboche, Kangtega, and Thamserku peaks. You'll encounter a beautiful chain of seven water-driven prayer wheels spinning by the river before crossing a suspension bridge through yak-grazing pastures. Don't miss visiting the Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Everest Region with impressive interior paintings.

Tengboche to Dingboche
You're trekking to Dingboche, one of the most rewarding days in the Everest region. The initial walk might seem unremarkable, but once you cross to the west side of the river, dramatic mountain views emerge. You'll encounter unexpected valleys and beautiful rivers before reaching Dingboche, a typical stone village with characteristic stone walls and houses built to protect against heavy winds. The local Sherpa people speak their native language and create a welcoming atmosphere.

Dingboche (Acclimatization Day)
You're taking a rest day in Dingboche for proper acclimatization. Explore local Sherpa houses to learn about their lifestyle and culture, watch how they prepare traditional alcohols and cuisines. In the afternoon, head to Nangkar Tshang hill for panoramic views of Makalu and Island Peak. You'll pass a small classic monastery and walk through wild jungle with rhododendrons and butterflies, especially in spring, before returning to Dingboche for the night.

Dingboche to Chhukung
You're trekking to Chhukung, which is manageable, but the real challenge comes with the hike to Chhukung Ri at 5,550m/18,200ft. The altitude poses greater risks of altitude sickness, but the views of Makalu, Lhotse Shar, Pumori, and Cho Oyu make it worthwhile. On clear days, the icy walls of Baruntse add further charm. After spending time at the top, you'll descend back to Chhukung for the night.

Lobuche to Gorakshep to Kalapatthar
From Lobuche, the path follows the ridge with several ups and downs before arriving at Gorakshep. The snowy pyramids on the west are worth viewing along the way. In the afternoon, head to Kalapatthar viewpoint. Sunset views from here are far better than sunrise views, offering spectacular sights of Everest's southern black face and countless mountain ranges. Return to Gorakshep for the night.

Everest Base Camp and Descent
Early in the morning, you're hiking to Everest Base Camp, a vast snowscape with dramatic mountain views often covered by thick haze. You'll see climbers preparing for their Everest ascent, which makes for interesting observations. After exploring base camp, descend back to Gorakshep for lunch, then continue to Lobuche. On the way to Dzongla, you'll pass the beautiful turquoise lake of Tshola.

Everest Base Camp and Descent

Dragnag via Cho La Pass
The trail drops from Dragnag then ascends over a curvy moraine leading to Cho La Pass, the second pass on the trek. Rocky boulders add extra challenge, but the views at the top are remarkable with incredible glacier walls, snowy spires, and distant views of Everest and Gokyo visible on clear days. The descent to Dragnag is challenging due to the slippery trail so crampons are highly recommended. Once you arrive, check in to a teahouse.

Dragnag to Gokyo Lakes System
You're walking along the steep icy path across Ngozumpa Glacier, Nepal's longest glacier, to reach Gokyo. Visit the Gokyo Lakes System, the world's highest freshwater lake system consisting of six major lakes. The turquoise blue waters invigorate the soul. Religiously, this lake system is considered the abode of snake gods, and during Janai Purnima in August, pilgrims dive into these pristine cold waters. It's a surreal experience exploring this unique lake system.

Gokyo Ri
Gokyo Ri is the Kalapatthar of the Gokyo region. The views of Gyangchung Kang and Cho Oyu are so sensational they trigger all your senses. Getting there is challenging because the path is steep and icy, so consider the risks carefully. Walk slowly and breathe regularly for proper acclimatization. Once at the top, the views are entirely yours to enjoy. Some believe the Gokyo Ri views rival those from Kalapatthar. Descend back to Gokyo for the night.

Gokyo to Lungden via Renjo La Pass
You're trekking to Lungden by crossing Renjo La Pass, the final pass of the Everest Region and the only pass passable by yaks. Despite this, the final ascent is taxing for trekkers. The steep trail sometimes flattens, but even flat sections are challenging due to altitude. Reaching the top rewards you with a glittering panorama of Everest and Makalu. The descent to Lungden is also hard with icy terrain and stone stairs putting pressure on knees. Enjoy faraway views of the Himalayas.

Lungden to Namche Bazaar
You're trekking downward on trails extending over Bhote Koshi River to Taranga, then continuing across suspension bridges to Thame, famous for its oldest monastery in the entire region. Pass through many Sherpa villages before the trail ends at Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
You're trekking back down to where the journey started. The trekking trail progresses adjacent to the rushing Dudh Koshi River beyond rugged terrain with forests of rhododendron, pine and oak, guided by mountain scenery. The trail concludes at Lukla, where your adventure began. You might take a stroll around Lukla village and reflect on the reminiscences of your mountain adventure.

Lukla to Kathmandu
