- TGTorsten· April 21st, 2022It's Torsten writing this (AJ will redirect you for sure if you'd like to talk to me in person). So the whole thing started with Claudius 40th birthday getting a 4 weeks off family present (how tempting this is ?). His always dream was for a high tour in Himalayas, which I somewhat already had, Lahaul + Spiti + Sikkim, along with my Indian friends. Called up on that birthday (we're 8 hrs apart) .. telling me the story .. I replied on immediately "call me in". On top, Claudius got to know Ajay via a friend before, also, via ITB. The plan was set, thourougly set up for Mar 2020. At last minute before airplane takeoff, after 4 hrs of constant video calls forth and back with Ajay, this had to be cancelled as for no future. That was both rationally and emotionally terrible, for all of us. We kept constant forth and back about possible dates and still there was no good base until we decided for a poker game back in fall 2021. Now that we won the poker game, it's about a team, the buddy you are travelling with, the guide that tells you the whereabouts and whatabouts, introduced us to our porters, Nima + Lekh (in alphabetical order). To make a long story straight, they carried our bulk load and eventually made us summit. These guys were strong, barely english talking, however I hope they are fine. Yes, of course, they got tipped whatever is good. It was too sad one couldn't learn there inner views. So here, aside of all the ovens we shared, dhyanyabad to you guys, you were key (glad to meet next time). Claudius is eager, and cautious. In that order. So .. surprises ahead. It's fine. AJ looks for socialisation. Gr8. I felt very well in that team. Padawa came in, certainly the most important figure ? Without him one cannot even dare to climb starting midnight, or shortly after ? So one sits an Padawa's home and he knows you from the afternoon climb. He just knows how you step climbs or the stairs of your house. You cannot trust more than this. He's your life insurance at top. When you come to straight rock, Padawa watches what your skills are for, helps you, forces you, he's smart, and keeps you pushing, he won't let go if your're too weak. The most of the time we spent walking up + down in AJ's company - without any exaggeration this was just heaven on earth. We shared soo many moments that will last. The strongest moment I felt on the plateau between Pangboche and Dingboche, AJ playing classic music and conducted the orchestra with his walking sticks. Thanks ! is a small word for the memories experienced, it's rather a start. The whole trip felt like one entire blast ! From the bottom of my heart, TorstenShow moreTrip date: March 2022

Asked on January 8th, 2025Would it be possible to organize a french speaking guide and internal flights?
- Swotah Travel and AdventureOperator•Written January 2025
We would be able to organize a french guide and it will cost extra $2000 for the whole tour. To organize return internal flights to Paro and Lhasa would be around $1500 per person depending on availability of flights.

- Swotah Travel and AdventureOperator•Written May 2023
Single supplement charge for this tour is $40/day. The flights to and from Bhutan are not included in this tour. It usually costs about $485 for two way flights. We arrange this for you on request.
- Swotah Travel and AdventureOperator•Written May 2023
The internal flights cost about $800-$900 for both Tibet and Bhutan flights. Bhutan two way and tibet one way. The price totally depends on the time and availability of booking. We can help our clients with visa process.

Traveler•Written May 2023I would like to book it but what if Tibet doesn't open what will happen to tour.
- Swotah Travel and AdventureOperator•Written May 2023
In case Tibet doesn't open, we would make sure that you have alternative tour. That is plan B. We will offer you extended tour in Nepal of equivalent value or something you would prefer doing, but lets look at the bright side and hope that everything goes well according to plan.

Asked on August 3rd, 2022Are the visas for Bhutan and Tibet group visas and I won't have to obtain individual visas?
- Swotah Travel and AdventureOperator•Written August 2022
Tibet visa is usually a group visa, but Bhutan visa is not. It can be obtained individually.

Traveler•Written August 2022Is the SDF tax a one of 200 USD for the whole stay in Bhutan or 200 USD per day? At what stage is this paid - on arrival? It looks like a PCR test is required on arrival. As arrival is in the middle of the tour, will the local tour operator help to organise this? Is there still a quarantine period even for fully vaccinated tourists? It seems that the visa can only be obtained via prior steps to be taken by the local tour operator. Can you provide further information on how this works as it is not very clear.
- Swotah Travel and AdventureOperator•Written August 2022
1. SDF is $200 per day. You pay this to the local tour operator as a part of the package. It is paid for while booking the trip. 2. PCR test is required even for fully vaccinated travelers. We as a local tour operator, facilitate you with PCR Tests. 3. Once the booking is confirmed, we will facilitate the visa for Bhutan.

Traveler•Written August 2022When you say that the 200$ per day is paid directly to the local tour operator, does that mean it is already included in the advertised price of the tour package, or is it an additional expense on top of the advertised price?
- Swotah Travel and AdventureOperator•Written August 2022
It's included in the given price.
