Sri Holidays provided us a driver who just dropped us at the tour site where we were left to explore the buildings/Hotels at our own pace. Except Sigiriya Fortress and Temple of Tooth Relic where Sri Holidays provided paid tour guide. Lunuganga Residence has their own staffs to explain the details of Bawa’s residence. Even though we can get the information from the internet, it will be good to have someone who is knowledgeable about the places/buildings. Also there seems some discrepancies between Tourradar given itinerary and the itinerary given by Sri Holidays to the driver. For example, for the first day, we didn’t see Bawa’s New Parliament as stated in Tourradar itinerary. The driver just drove pass the Old Parliament in the town centre, as the lists given to the driver is only the Old Parliament and the driver adhere strictly to their list. We didn’t manage to visit Ruhuna University on Day 5 as Sri Holidays did not apply the required permit from the Chancellor. We were stopped at the University gate and refused entry by the Security. According to the Security, getting permit is the standard procedure for any visitors to the university. So, Sri Holidays did not do their part. We were very disappointed with Sri Holidays. Likewise, we didn’t manage to visit SOS Children Village too. After the morning incident, we took the initiative to call SOS Children Village to inform them of our visit prior to our arrival. Again, We also been turned down. We understand this could be partly due to Coronavirus. if Sri Holidays has done their checks and inform the driver accordingly, we would not wasted our time on the road from morning till 2pm getting no where. Basically Sri Holidays need to improve their co-ordination and communication between the office and the driver. Regards, Rachel
