Itinerary
- Day 1
Vientiane
You'll arrive in Vientiane and get picked up for your hotel transfer. Once you're settled, the day involves checking out the capital's major temples, starting with Wat Sisaket where thousands of miniature Buddha statues fill the grounds. From there, head to Wat Prakeo, the former royal temple. Stop by the iconic Patuxay Monument afterward, then make your way to That Luang Stupa. Wrap up by heading to the Mekong riverside to catch the sunset, which is particularly nice from there.

- Day 2
Vientiane to Luang Prabang
Take a short flight to Luang Prabang and check into your hotel. You'll then visit Wat Visoun's impressive stupa along with the shrines at Wat Aham and Wat Mai. Climb to the top of Mount Phousi to see the sacred gilded stupa and take in the sunset views over the city and river below. Later in the evening, walk through the Night Market to look at handmade textiles made by local artisans and pick up any souvenirs.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang
Start with a guided tour of Wat Sene and Wat Xiengthong, the city's oldest temples. Wat Xiengthong stands out with its distinctive low-sweeping roofs that represent classical Laotian design. Then you'll cruise upstream on the Mekong River through countryside scenery and explore Pak Ou Caves, which contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. Later, stop at Ban Xanghai village to learn how locals make rice wine, and finish at Ban Phanom village known for hand weaving.

- Day 4
Luang Prabang to Vientiane
If you'd like to start early, there's the option to watch saffron-clad monks collecting alms, a unique Buddhist tradition in Laos. After breakfast, visit the National Museum in the former Royal Palace to see artifacts from Lao culture spanning from ancient kings to the last sovereign. Check out the Central Market, then fly back to Vientiane. You'll visit Buddha Park, which has roughly 200 Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the riverside, created by a mysterious monk. Finish with sunset views over the Mekong.
