Itinerary
- Day 1
Luang Prabang
You'll be picked up when you arrive and taken to your hotel in Luang Prabang. After settling in, head out to check out Wat Visoun's stupa, then move on to Wat Aham and Wat Mai. The afternoon involves climbing Mount Phousi to see the gilded stupa at the top, which gives you great views over the city and the Mekong River, especially nice around sunset time. Later in the evening, wander through the Night Market to look at handmade textiles made by local artisans.

- Day 2
Luang Prabang
This morning you'll take a guided tour of Wat Sene, the city's oldest temple, followed by Wat Xiengthong with its distinctive low-sweeping roofs that show classical Laotian design. After that, you'll cruise upstream on the Mekong River through quiet countryside to reach the Pak Ou Caves, which are filled with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. You'll stop in Ban Xanghai village to see how local rice wine is made, and then visit Ban Phanom village where people do hand weaving work.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang
If you're interested, there's an early-morning option to watch saffron-clad monks collecting alms, a tradition that's still kept alive here in Laos. Later you'll check out Phousi Market with all kinds of local goods like dried buffalo skin, local tea, and hill-tribe weavings. The day includes visits to ethnic minority villages such as Ban Ouay (Hmong), Ban Ou, and Ban Thapene (Khmu villages). After lunch, you'll head to Khouangsi Waterfall where you can swim and take walks through the forest. You'll also stop at Ban Xangkhong village to see silk weaving and Saa papermaking. By late evening, you'll head back to the city to catch the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.

Luang Prabang
Start your day at the National Museum, housed in the former Royal Palace, where you can see artifacts and items that show Lao culture from the early kings up through the last sovereign. After that, walk through the Central Market to browse around. Depending on what time your flight leaves, you might have free time to do some shopping in the area before someone transfers you to the airport for your departure.
