Kathmandu
You'll land at Tribhuvan International Airport where someone from Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure meets you with a sign. They drive you to your hotel for check-in and rest after your flight.

Kathmandu
This morning you'll walk through Kathmandu visiting four major spiritual sites: Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Patan Darbar Square. These places show the city's Hindu and Buddhist heritage through their architecture and religious significance.

Kathmandu to Dharapani
A jeep takes you from Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway through Dumre, Besisahar, Bhulbhule, Bahundanda, and Tal. You'll pass waterfalls, streams, suspension bridges, and agricultural fields along the Marsayangdi River valley during this scenic drive.

Dharapani to Koto
Walking through fir and pine forests toward Bagarchhap, you'll see Peak 29 (7871m/25,823ft) and Manaslu (8156m/26,781ft). The trail takes you through small villages on rocky terrain past Timang via Danakyu to Koto, where the Annapurna range comes into view.

With your restricted area permits, you trek along Naar Khola through dense juniper and pine forests. After crossing a suspension bridge and passing a waterfall, you'll hike roughly 7 hours through scenic terrain to reach Meta.

Meta to Phu
Multiple suspension bridges over water streams take you through villages like Jhunam, Chyakhu, and Kyang. Walking along Phu Khola on rocky trails, you might see blue sheep grazing. The Tashi Lakhang Monastery, built by Karmapa Rinpoche, sits at your destination today.

Phu (Rest & Acclimatization)
At Phu village, you'll rest and acclimatize to the thinner air at high altitude. Wander around this community of Gurung, Ghale, and Tibetan people to learn their traditions and lifestyle. You'll also check out Tashi Lhakhang Monastery built by Karmapa Rinpoche.

Phu to Nar
Crossing Phu Pass (5050m/16,568ft) and Nar Pass (5400m/17,717ft), you hike over many suspension bridges through Himalayan forests. The route passes Mahendra Pul and the Labse River gorge before descending to Nar, where Buddhist stupas and monasteries line your path.

Nar to Ngawal
An uphill trek to Jhombu Kharka (also called Kang-La) rewards you with views of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, and surrounding peaks. You might encounter yak herder camps along the way. After taking in the panorama, you hike downhill to Ngawal.

Ngawal to Manang
Hiking downhill and exploring monasteries on the way to Braga, then roughly an hour gets you to the Manang valley. A hike up to Chhunker viewpoint shows off Gangapurna Lake (3500m/11,483ft), the Annapurna range, and peaks like Tilicho, Pisang, and Chulu. Visit Cave Gompa before returning to your lodge in Manang for typical Thakali cuisine.

Manang to Yak Kharka
You'll climb several rocky ridges heading toward Yak Kharka through beautiful forests of rhododendron, juniper, and pine. The path features monasteries and Mani walls with colorful prayer flags. You might spot yaks grazing in fields, and the hike takes roughly 4 hours with the Himalayas as your backdrop.

Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
Climbing ridges along the Kali Gandaki River takes you to Ledar. After crossing a wooden bridge over the river, steep trails bring you to Thorong Phedi. Spend the rest of the day adjusting to the high altitude and preparing for tomorrow's pass.

Thorong Phedi to Muktinath
Early climbing on steep trails reaches Thorong High Camp, the base for Nepal's highest mountain pass. From there, continue up steep rocky ridges to Thorong-La Pass where panoramic Himalayan views spread out before you. It's downhill then to Chabarbu, and a couple more hours gets you to the holy site of Muktinath.

Muktinath to Jomsom
At Muktinath Temple, a sacred site for Buddhists and Hindus, you can shower under 108 water spouts believed to cleanse sins. Then you'll hike downhill seeing Nilgiri Himal (7061m/23,169ft) and the Dhaulagiri range. The walk takes you through Jharkot and onward to Jomsom, a notably windy town.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
