Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi to Nanyuki
Your hotel pickup in Nairobi happens between 7:30-8:00 AM, and from there you're driven to Nanyuki, which sits at the base of Mount Kenya. The drive takes several hours, so you'll have time to settle in once you arrive. Lunch and dinner are both included today, giving you a chance to rest and prepare for the trek ahead.

Nanyuki to Judmier Camp
After breakfast, you'll leave Nanyuki at 08:00 and head to Sirimon Gate, about an hour away. From the gate, the trek begins with a steady climb through forest that opens up into heathland as you go higher. This 9-kilometer section gains 860 meters in elevation and takes 3-4 hours, finishing at Judmier Camp where you'll spend the night.

- Day 3
Judmier Camp to Shipton Camp
Following breakfast, you're trekking through moorland with some river crossings along the way, including the Ontulili River and Liki North. The walk passes through Mackinder Valley, which gives you views of the main peaks stretching out in front of you. This longer 14-kilometer day gains 900 meters and runs 6-7 hours total, ending at Shipton Camp.

- Day 4
Shipton Camp Acclimatization Day
Today is for acclimating to the altitude, so you're staying put at Shipton Camp. There are guided walks available to Kami Hut and Hausberg Lakes (both Hausberg Tarn and Nanyuki Tarn), letting you explore without pushing too hard. After returning to camp, you'll have dinner and another night to rest before the summit attempt.

- Day 5
Shipton Camp to Point Lenana to Meru Mount Kenya Bandas
You'll start at 03:00 AM for the summit push, climbing up a steep rocky quarry that passes through a cliff opening where you'll get views of the lower Hall Tarns. Reaching Point Lenana at 06:30 AM lets you catch the sunrise from that vantage point. After taking in the view, you descend to Mintos Hut for breakfast, then continue to Meru Mount Kenya Bandas for dinner and overnight stay.

Meru Mount Kenya Bandas to Nairobi
The descent takes about 2 hours and covers 15 kilometers through forest areas with some clearings. You'll reach Chogoria Village where your transfer vehicle is waiting to drive you back to Nairobi. Arriving in the afternoon gives you the option for a hotel drop-off or straight to the airport depending on your flight.
