Dinner and breakfasts were excellent and I liked we had the option of finding our own places for lunch. The scenic stops were very interesting (caves!)Show more

The length of the drive was the biggest obstacle, but the well-timed comfort breaks and interesting stops mitigated that. The interesting stops included a wine tasting in the famous Coonawarra wine region, a tour of the Naracoorte Caves (UNESCO World Hertiage Site), a hike in the rain forest, and, of course, the Great Ocean Road & its iconic limestone stacks. The accommodations and the dinners were excellent. One hotel located above Appollo Bay had spectacular breath-taking views from the rooms.
