An unforgettable 50th birthday trip with Bishnu & Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure! I recently travelled to Nepal to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I could not have asked for a better guide and organiser than Bishnu from Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure. From the very beginning of my trip planning, Bishnu was there every step of the way, answering questions, organising logistics, and creating a perfect 5-day itinerary that combined trekking with sightseeing. When I first started looking at companies, Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure stood out immediately, not only for their reputation but also because of the glowing reviews about Bishnu. I specifically asked for him and now I can say with absolute confidence that everything people say is true, and more! Travelling as two female friends, trust and safety were top priorities for us. Bishnu exceeded our expectations. He made us feel comfortable, safe, and completely looked after throughout. Honestly, if I were travelling solo as a woman in Nepal, I would have no hesitation choosing Bishnu. He is reliable, genuine, and has such a calm and caring manner that you know you are in safe hands. Our itinerary included beautiful treks such as Sarangkot to Naudanda and the stunning hike up to Australian Camp, as well as sightseeing around Pokhara. Bishnu ensured everything ran smoothly, from transfers to boats, hikes, and local visits. What really impressed me was how flexible he was. If we wanted to adjust timings or go at a different pace, he happily accommodated us without ever making us feel rushed. He always accompanied us personally on every trip and transfer, which meant we could truly relax and enjoy every moment. I had booked hotels separately, but Bishnu still made sure all transport was organised to and from our accommodation daily. He and the driver met us each morning with a warm welcome, ready to start our adventures. It felt like travelling with someone who genuinely cared, not just a guide doing a job. Thanks to Bishnu and Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure, my 50th birthday trip was unforgettable. The scenery, the treks, the culture, all of it was made even more special by having Bishnu there to guide us. I very highly recommend Himalayan Sanctuary to anyone considering a trip to Nepal. And to the ladies out there thinking of travelling solo, Bishnu is your person! When I return to Nepal to take on one of the mountains, there is no question who I will call: Bishnu and Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure. They are simply superb in every way.

Just returned from an unforgettable Gokyo Ri trek organised by Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. The logistics were seamless — from airport pickups to domestic flights, hotels, and meals — everything was sorted without us ever needing to worry. A huge part of what made this trip so special was our guide, Bishnu. He’s one of those people who genuinely cares — not just about logistics, but about how you're doing each day. He made sure we were adjusting well to the altitude, kept checking in on us, and was always happy to adjust the plan to suit our pace and comfort. Little things, like offering us fruit each evening, really made us feel looked after. What stood out most was Bishnu’s honesty and the level of trust he built from day one. Everything was clearly explained upfront and remained consistent with the itinerary — no hidden costs, no surprises. It was obvious that his goal wasn’t to upsell or rush us through the trek, but to give us a meaningful and enjoyable experience. You could really feel his pride in sharing the mountains and his culture with us. Some of the most memorable parts of the trek weren’t just the insane views, but the downtime — the chats over dinner, the shared stories, the laughs after a long day of walking. Bishnu’s warmth made the whole thing feel personal and grounded. Our route took us through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dole, Machhermo, and Gokyo — each destination presenting its own unique charm with evolving landscapes. The pinnacle was an unforgettable sunrise hike up Gokyo Ri, blanketed in snow. We ended the trip in Kathmandu with a traditional dinner and cultural performance, which was such a beautiful way to wrap things up. The price for the whole package was very fair, especially for the unreal level of care, personalisation and attention we received. If you're planning a trek in Nepal, I can’t recommend Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure and Bishnu enough. You’ll be in great hands.

We recently completed the Gokyo Ri trek with Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Our guide, Bishnu, was at the heart of it all - professional, warm, and incredibly thoughtful. From the moment we arrived in Nepal, he took care of everything: airport pickups and drop-offs, domestic flights, hotel bookings, trek accommodations, and all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Upon arrival in Lukla, Bishnu arranged a porter to help with our bags. Then every evening, without fail, Bishnu offered us an apple and pomegranate - a simple yet heartfelt gesture that reflected his deep hospitality. He remained flexible with the itinerary, adjusting to our needs and checking in regularly to ensure we were acclimatising well and feeling supported. One of the things we appreciated most was Bishnu’s honesty and integrity. He was completely transparent about costs from the beginning - there were no hidden charges or unexpected add-ons. It was clear that his focus was on delivering a meaningful and comfortable experience, rather than on profit. His approach built trust immediately, and we always felt respected and valued as guests. Bishnu truly embodied the Nepalese belief that “Guest is God.” Beyond guiding us through the Himalayas, he shared his culture, values, and personal stories with us. We didn’t just complete a trek - we built a friendship. In the evenings, we laughed, played cards, and had deep conversations that made the experience even more memorable. Our itinerary: Day 1: Kathmandu to Ramechhap, to Lukla to Phakding Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar Day 3: Acclimatisation in Namche Bazaar Day 4: Namche Bazaar to Dole Day 5: Dole to Machhermo Day 6: Machhermo to Gokyo Day 7: Acclimatisation & sunrise trek to Gokyo Ri Day 8: Return journey We ended the adventure with a traditional farewell dinner in Kathmandu, complete with live cultural dance performances - a beautiful way to conclude the journey. Throughout the trek, we learned so much - not only about Nepal and its breathtaking landscapes, but also about ourselves, Nepalese culture, and the importance of humility and character, much of which we saw reflected in Bishnu himself. The total package was very reasonably priced compared to other companies, especially considering the level of care and personal attention we received. If you’re considering a trek in Nepal, we wholeheartedly recommend Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure and Bishnu. You’ll be guided with expertise, treated with genuine kindness, and walk away with memories - and friendships - that will last a lifetime.
