Cairo
You'll arrive in Cairo and check into your 4-star hotel starting at 3:00 p.m. Your schedule adjusts based on when you get there. If you land before 7:00 p.m., you'll have dinner at the hotel and get settled for your first night.

Cairo
This is a full day exploring ancient burial sites and pyramids. You'll start at Saqqara, one of Egypt's largest necropolises, walking through royal tombs and burial grounds. The Pyramid of Teti is there with its hieroglyph-covered walls and basalt sarcophagus. After grabbing lunch, you head to Giza to see the Great Pyramid and check out the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, plus the Great Sphinx.

Cairo
You'll spend the day at two major Cairo sites. First comes the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Pyramids, which holds over 100,000 artifacts from 5,000 years of history, including the complete Tutankhamun collection. Then you'll head to the Citadel of Saladin, a fortress with views across Cairo and the City of the Dead.

Cairo to Luxor
The morning has you visiting the Coptic Quarter to see the White Mosque of Mohammed Ali Pasha, the Hanging Church, Saint Sergius Church, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Later you'll fly to Luxor and board your cruise ship by the harbor. Dinner comes once you're settled on the ship for the night.

Luxor to Edfu
You'll tour the Karnak Temple Complex in the morning, one of ancient Egypt's largest religious sites built over more than 1,000 years. During the afternoon, your ship cruises toward Edfu. After dinner, you'll spend the night on board.

Edfu to Kom Ombo
The morning takes you to the Temple of Horus, one of Egypt's best-preserved ancient buildings. You'll have lunch on the ship as it continues to Kom Ombo, passing the Gebel el-Silsila quarry. There's a presentation on ancient Egypt, followed by a visit to the Temple of Kom Ombo. An Egyptian-themed dinner and night on board follow.

Kom Ombo to Aswan
You'll visit the Philae Temple Complex, a UNESCO-protected site dedicated to Isis, and get photos at the Aswan Dam. Lunch happens on board, then you'll board small local boats for a scenic Nile tour between granite islands, passing near Elephantine Island. Dinner and your night are on the ship.

Aswan
This morning is yours to spend as you like in Aswan. Consider the Nubian Museum, wandering the souk, or relaxing at the Old Cataract hotel where Agatha Christie wrote Death on the Nile. An optional excursion to Abu Simbel's rock temples (140 miles away, three hours driving) is available. You'll return for lunch on the ship, then spend the afternoon cruising to Esna before dinner and your night on board.

Esna to Luxor
The morning brings you cruising toward Luxor with a presentation on modern Egypt. You'll then visit the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut and Tomb KV11 in the Valley of the Kings, an intact royal tomb from Pharaoh Rameses III with preserved colors and detailed wall scenes. You'll spend the night on board.

Luxor
You have the full day exploring the Valley of the Kings, visiting four tombs including the longest and deepest royal tomb built for Seti I, featuring decorated passageways with bas-reliefs and colorful paintings. You'll stop at the Colossi of Memnon for photos, have lunch on the ship, then visit the Luxor Temple in town. A traditional Egyptian entertainment show comes after dinner, and you'll stay on board.
