Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
Your early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla takes 45 minutes and offers great views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Once you land, you'll have breakfast and a trek briefing before heading out on foot toward Phakding. The walk follows well-maintained paths through the Dudh Koshi valley for about 3 hours, and you'll end up in Phakding, a small village with just 30-40 houses where you'll stay overnight.

Landmarks Dudh Koshi Valley Phakding - Day 2
Phakding to Namche Bazaar
From here, you'll trek through the Dudh Kosi River valley and reach Monjo where you enter Sagarmatha National Park to verify permits. The route crosses the Dudh Kosi River five times using suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags. After 4-6 hours of walking, you'll get your first view of Everest and Lhotse as you arrive in Namche. Then you'll continue another 2-3 hours to Namche Bazaar, the main trading hub and unofficial capital of the Everest region.

Namche Bazaar (Acclimatization)
Today's an acclimatization day with shorter walks to help your body adjust to the altitude. You can choose between visiting Khumjung village to see the local school, hospital, monastery and the Yeti skull (7.6 km, 4 hours), stopping by a local bakery for fresh items, or heading to Syanboche airstrip at 3780m for mountain views and good coffee and tea at Everest View Hotel. Whatever you pick, you'll return to Namche Bazaar for the night.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
This day involves terrain with several ups and downs as you pass through small settlements like Sansa and Phunkithanga, along with pine forests and Mani stones. The views of Everest and Ama Dablam from Kunjoma are excellent. Later you'll reach Tengboche monastery at 3870m, sitting nicely in a Tibetan monastery village. Spend time at the monastery listening to monks chant during morning and evening sessions while taking in panoramic views of Kwangde, Tawachee, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku.

Tengboche to Dingboche
Start by descending through a beautiful forest along the Imja Khola valley and then gradually work your way to Pangboche village, which has the oldest monastery in the area. After that, you'll walk through summer pastures before arriving in Dingboche, a village with incredible views of Island Peak and Ama Dablam.

Dingboche (Acclimatization)
Another acclimatization day with options for shorter hikes. You can take an easier trek to Chhukung for views of Mt. Makalu, Island Peak, and other Himalayan peaks (8 km, 3-4 hours), or go for a tougher hike up Nangkartshang Peak with views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku, and Kangtega (about 6 km, 5 hours). Either way, you'll overnight at Dingboche.

Dingboche to Lobuche
Begin by climbing to the chorten trail and continuing toward Pheriche. You'll pass the Trekkers Aid Post where people can get medical help if needed. After leaving Pheriche, trek to Thulga where the Gokyo trail meets the Everest Base Camp trail. The landscape becomes barren and rocky, so watch your footing carefully. Later you'll descend to yak pastures at Lobuche with spectacular views of Mt. Tawache and Mt. Nuptse.

Lobuche to Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp
Trek to Gorakshep at 5160m, the world's highest human settlement and the final stop before Base Camp. The first part of the hike is relatively easy with beautiful views of the massive walls formed by Everest, Nuptse and other peaks. After lunch, walk along a side ridge of the Khumbu glacier, cross the glacier and reach Everest Base Camp at 5400m with fantastic views of Mt. Khutse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Changtse and the Khumbu Glacier and Ice Fall. Then head back to Gorak Shep for the night.

- Day 9
Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar to Lukla to Kathmandu
Head out early to Kalapathar at 5545m before sunrise to catch the clearest views. This is the highest point of your trek and offers 360-degree panoramic views of the world's highest peaks including Mt. Pumori, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Mt. Changtse, and Mt. Nuptse. Most of the famous Everest photographs are taken from here. Return to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then catch a sharing helicopter flight back to Lukla and fly to Kathmandu, ending your trek with aerial views of the entire region.
