Itinerary

Day 1
Lake Manyara National Park
After an early breakfast, you'll drive out to Lake Manyara National Park for the day. During a refreshment stop at Jambo Lodge in MtoWaMbu, grab your packed lunch boxes before heading to Msasa Picnic site where you can eat with views overlooking the lake. Spend your afternoon searching for wildlife around the park, watching for lions, giraffes, hippos, and buffalo among the trees and grassland. The area's also known for having over 350 bird species, so bring binoculars if you have them. You'll head back to the hotel by late afternoon.

From the very first communication to the final day of our trip, the entire experience was handled with professionalism, warmth, and genuine care. Our guide was incredibly skilled at spotting wildlife and shared insightful knowledge about the animals, landscapes, and cultures. Every game drive was exciting and perfectly paced, and the accommodations selected by Kilisa Tours were comfortable and well-suited to the authentic safari experience. After researching many tour companies and contacting a few, I selected Kalisa. They were responsive to my questions with straight forward answers. I met with Bakari, my guide the day prior and went over my gear and what to expect with the hike. On the mountain the Kalisa team seemed to be a notch above the others. They left camp as a team and hiked together. Everyone from the porters to Amir, the chef to Bakari had one goal and that was to reach the summit. On summit night I don’t normally ascend with poles but as my legs were getting tired Bakari got my poles and told me to pull myself up the mountain. It worked. Also on summit night Eddy, a porter went along to provide any needed support. The food was good and plentiful. More starch than I usually eat but that is what is needed on the mountain. Amir even served up scratch pizza one night. Hussein, my waiter made sure I had everything I needed while in camp. The porters were amazing. Their sure footedness and durability on the mountain was something to see. They made it all happen. I highly recommend Kalisa tours for your experience.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before February 15th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 15th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Kilisa Tours & Safaris. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
