Kampala to Murchison Falls
The drive from Kampala to Murchison Falls takes roughly 5 to 6 hours with a lunch stop along the way. By late afternoon you'll reach the falls where the Nile River cuts through a seven-meter crevice and creates a rainbow effect. After some time for bird watching and photos, you'll head to your lodge for the night.

Murchison Falls
An optional early coffee or tea starts your morning before heading out for a game drive on the northern bank searching for giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest and various birds. Following breakfast and lunch, you'll take a boat cruise on the Nile toward the falls where you can see Nile crocodiles and hippos up close.

Kibale National Park
Morning forest walks through Kibale focus on finding chimpanzees along with red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and other primates. After lunch, you'll walk through Bigodi Village swamp known for rich bird diversity, butterflies and rare plants.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning coffee precedes a drive to the mating ground of Uganda kobs where lions and leopards sometimes hunt, plus you'll see elephants and other wildlife. Following lunch, a boat cruise down the Kazinga Channel shows off the highest concentration of hippos in East Africa.

Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Choose between a morning forest walk in Maramagambo (featuring Blue Lake, unique trees and bat caves) or a chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge. Mid-morning you'll head toward Bwindi with a packed lunch and arrive early evening at the home of the endangered mountain gorillas.

Gorilla Trekking
After early breakfast and a packed lunch, you'll receive your gorilla trekking briefing. This is the main highlight of your trip. You'll encounter the gorillas in their natural setting, though expect to walk long distances on steep muddy terrain sometimes with rain, so physical fitness matters. Watching them feed, play and rest makes for a memorable experience.

Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi
