- John· December 16th, 20224/5 Our trip to Egypt was a special trip. While I started out by booking a 4-day tour as listed, I ended up expanding the tour, with Ash from Luxor Private Tour arranging everything from airport pick-up and drop-off to two open days, and expanded touring. Our time in Luxor was especially good with Mohammed as our guide. He was was working on his PhD and had done direct archeology-type work in Egypt, and was humble and incredibly knowledgeable. We saw the Karnak Temple, and Luxor Temple and the Valley of the Kings and Mohammed was very enjoyable. The hot air balloon ride in Luxor was a spectacular view, and the pyramids in Giza are incredible. Sakkara is also very much worth the visit, and the Library in Alexandria was quite amazing. The first full tour day included some miss-communication and it meant that we didn't get to see everything we were promised. We were able to adjust the final tour day to repeat a tour and see an area we missed, but at the expense of missing I believe two Museums. Our second guide named Mohammed took us to Alexandria, the Pyramids/Sakkara and Islamic Cairo and was knowledgable and provided some interesting perspective.
