Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Pokhara to Pothana

    After breakfast in Pokhara, you'll drive about 30 minutes to Phedi and start trekking up a steep trail through the spread-out village of Dhampus. The path continues climbing toward Pothana where you'll stay for the night at 1,990m/6,529ft. This first day gets you acclimated to the altitude and terrain.

  2. Day 2

    Pothana to Landruk/Jhinu Dada

    Leaving Pothana, you'll climb along stone-paved paths heading toward Deurali, which has great views of Annapurna. From there, the trail descends to Modi River at Tolka, then you'll climb a gentle ridge to reach the Gurung village of Landruk for the night at 1,620m/5,315ft.

  3. Day 3

    Jhinu Dada to Dovan

    The trail descends via stone steps down to Chomrong Khola River, then ascends through rhododendron forest to Khurdi. You'll pass through bamboo forest toward Bamboo Lodge but continue climbing upward to Dovan at 2,580m/8,465ft. This prepares you for tomorrow's challenging hike to Machhapuchhre Base Camp.

  4. Day 4

    Dovan to Machhapuchhre Base Camp

    Today's trek includes a section prone to avalanches, so your guide will choose the safest route that morning and may add a small detour. You'll hike a rocky path through dense forest to Hinko, follow a river bank to Bagal, pass through rhododendron forest, then tackle the difficult final section to Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) Base Camp at 3,700m/12,139ft. Climbing Mt. Machhapuchhre itself is forbidden, but the views from base camp are extraordinary.

  5. Day 5

    Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp and return

    A pleasant 2-hour walk brings you to Annapurna Base Camp Sanctuary, where you'll see Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, Khangsar Kang, and Tarke Kang. You can have hot tea or coffee while taking in the views, then return to Himalayan Hotel. This morning gives you time to relax and absorb the panorama before heading back down.

    Himalayan Hotel to Chomrong

    You'll follow the same route back, retracing your steps from the previous days to return to Chomrong at 2,170m/7,120ft. This descent day takes you back through the terrain you've already covered, making the trail familiar.

  7. Day 7

    Chomrong to Ghandruk

    Instead of returning to Pokhara on your outward route, you'll take a detour from Chomrong toward Ghandruk, a village inhabited by the Gurungs. The trail descends to Kimrung before ascending steeply to Kimrong Dada, then follows a fairly flat path to Ghandruk at 1,940m/6,365ft for tonight's stay.

  8. Day 8

    Ghandruk to Pokhara/Kathmandu

    Your final trekking day starts with a steep descent of more than 900m over about 3 hours. Shortly after leaving Ghandruk, the Nature Conservation and Human Potential Center is worth stopping at, and you'll have enough time to reach Pokhara by evening to end your trek.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 13th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 13th, 2026, a minimum payment of 25% is required to confirm your booking with World Himalayan Destination Pvt Ltd. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
