Itinerary
- Day 1
Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
Land at Kilimanjaro International Airport and get driven to your hotel in Moshi. Your guide meets you in the late afternoon to go over the trek plan and what to expect. Use the rest of the day to sort through your bags, grab bottled water at local shops, and get yourself mentally ready for the climb.

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Leave any extra luggage behind at the hotel, then head out from Moshi around 8:30am toward Marangu Gate at the mountain's base. After handling park paperwork, you'll start hiking through rainforest thick with moss and lichens. The trek runs about 4 to 5 hours and covers 8 km, ending at Mandara Hut (9,000 ft/2,743 m) where you'll sleep in mountain huts overnight.

Landmarks/POIs Marangu Gate Mount Kilimanjaro - Day 3
Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Start walking toward Horombo Huts at 12,000 ft/3,658 m through lower heathland covered with small shrubs. This section takes roughly 5 to 6 hours and goes for 12 km. You'll stop for lunch partway up where you get views across to Mawenzi, and arrive at Horombo Hut around 3pm with Kibo summit already visible ahead.

Horombo Hut to Moshi
Pack up after breakfast and head back down along the same path through the rainforest, reaching Mandara Hut for lunch. From there, continue descending to Marangu Park Gate where your ride waits to take you back to Moshi. You should get to the gate around 2pm and be back at your hotel by early evening.
