Itinerary
- Day 1
Aurangabad
You'll fly into Aurangabad and get settled at your hotel. After lunch, head out on a half-day tour to Ellora Caves, which sit about 30km away. The site has 34 cave temples carved into the rock over centuries, and you'll walk through structures representing Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. It's quite the range of religious architecture all in one place.

- Day 2
Aurangabad
This is a full day dedicated to Ajanta Caves, roughly 90km away (plan on 2 hours of travel). The 30 Buddhist caves carved into a rocky canyon served as a monsoon retreat for monks. You'll see caves dating from around 200 A.D. through 650 A.D., with Buddha statues, carved columns, and paintings throughout. The age and detail here make it quite significant historically.

- Day 3
Mumbai
You'll fly to Mumbai and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, take a half-day sightseeing tour hitting several key spots. The Gateway of India overlooks the harbour, then you'll see the Prince of Wales Museum, Hanging Gardens, Marine Drive, the colorful Dhobi Ghat outdoor laundry, and Mani Bhawan museum focused on Mahatma Gandhi. It's a solid introduction to the city's landmarks.

Mumbai
Early start heading to Elephanta Caves around 9:30 am. The caves contain impressive sculptures of Shiva, and there's a striking 6-meter high three-faced statue representing the deity's roles as creator, guardian, and destructor. After exploring the caves, your afternoon and evening are free for whatever you'd like to do, whether that's relaxing or exploring on your own.

Departure
You can stay at your accommodation until noon. After that, it's a morning transfer to the airport for your flight onward. Pack the night before so you're ready to head out without any rush.
