Your flight touches down in Nouakchott and you'll go through the arrival process with assistance from your guide. From there, it's a straightforward transfer to your hotel where you can settle in and rest after traveling.

Landmarks/POIs Nouakchott - Day 2
Nouakchott to Chinguetti
You'll drive through Akjoujt on one of Mauritania's best paved roads heading toward Atar. Once there, switch to a track that takes you to Chinguetti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meet your camels and the trainers who'll be with you, then check into your hotel for the night.

Chinguetti
Spend your first full day trekking through the Desert of Chinguetti with your camel and guide. You'll move through the landscape, getting a sense of the terrain and what the area looks like from different vantage points.

Chinguetti
Another day of camel trekking takes you deeper into the desert around Chinguetti. You'll continue exploring different parts of the landscape and experiencing what traveling through this environment feels like day after day.

Chinguetti
This is your final trekking day in Chinguetti, so you'll make good use of the time exploring more of the desert terrain and soaking in the last of your camel journey through this region.

Chinguetti to Atar
You'll have lunch in Chinguetti, then head back to Atar for the afternoon and evening. Check into your hotel there and take time to rest after several days of desert trekking.

Landmarks/POIs Atar - Day 7
Atar to Nouakchott
Start the morning walking through Atar town, then travel to the Oasis of Tergit where you can swim and have lunch. It's one of Mauritania's nicest oases for a good reason. Later in the afternoon, you'll drive back toward Nouakchott.

Nouakchott
You'll spend the morning checking out local markets and the museum in Nouakchott. After lunch, there's time to swim in the Atlantic Ocean and walk through the active fishing port. By evening, you'll head to the airport for your onward flight.
