Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll land at Kathmandu Airport where your guide meets you for the transfer to your hotel. After settling in and resting from your journey, the afternoon brings a visit to the tour office. There you'll connect with your trekking guide, go over what's ahead on the trek, and handle your mandatory trekking permits. Your evening is free to relax at the hotel or take a walk around the area.

Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
An early morning flight gets you to Lukla in about 30 minutes, with views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks the whole way. Once on the ground, the trek begins through scenic terrain to the Sherpa village of Chheplung. From there you'll pass views of Kusum Kanguru (6,369m) and trek through Ghat village, known for its Buddhist mantra boulders. You'll end your first mountain day at Phakding (2,610m).

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Starting along the western bank of Dudh Koshi, you reach Benkar (2,700m) where hot springs and a waterfall are located. Crossing to the eastern bank, the trail goes through rhododendron and pine forests toward Sagarmatha National Park. There's a permit check at Chumoa or Mondzo before you pass through Monjo village and Jhorsalle. A suspension bridge crossing over Dudh Koshi River leads to a forest climb ending at Namche Bazaar (3,340m), where mountain views open up around you.

Namche Bazaar
This rest day in Namche Bazaar (3,340m) lets your body adjust to the elevation. The town is the Sherpa 'capital' and administrative hub for the Khumbu region, so there's plenty to do. You can walk through shops, cafes, an ATM, bank, German bakery, and look for Tibetan souvenirs. Saturday mornings have a weekly market running until mid-day. The surrounding acclimatization trails lead to villages and viewpoints, or you might take a village tour to learn about Sherpa customs. On clear days, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Taweche all come into view.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Trekking through the Khumjung region, you head toward the Everest Base Camp route at Shanasa, then continue to Trashinga and Phunkitenga (3,250m). An army checkpoint at Dudh Koshi River means a permit inspection. From there, the trail climbs uphill through forests of juniper, fir, pine, and rhododendron to Tengboche (3,870m). This village is home to Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, and offers views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and Kantega. The sunset over Mt. Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam here is something you won't forget.

Tengboche to Dingboche
You'll descend through woodlands of rhododendron, birch, fir, and juniper at Debouche, then climb steadily across the rushing Imja Khola to Pangboche (3,985m). The village has a monastery worth exploring, and Mt. Ama Dablam looks elegant from here. Crossing Imja Khola again, you ascend the alpine hillside to Dingboche (4,360m). Plan on about 5 to 6 hours of trekking today.

Dingboche
Staying at Dingboche (4,360m) gives your body a second day to adjust to the higher elevation and helps prevent Acute Mountain Sickness. You can rest at your lodge or explore the Chhukung Valley if you're feeling up to it. For more active acclimatization, there's a trek to Nangkartshang Hill (5,090m) that takes about 4 to 5 hours and rewards you with views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Island Peak, Makalu, and the valley below. Your guide will likely stress how important it is to give your body time to adjust before the terrain gets harder.

Dingboche to Lobuche
Trekking under the views of Tawache and Cholatse peaks along a ridge, you'll move beyond pasturelands and cross a wooden bridge to Dughla (4,620m). A steep ascent over glacial moraine follows, passing a memorial for fallen climbers and Sherpas from Everest expeditions. You'll see Lingtren (6,697m), Pumori (7,145m), and Mahalangur Himal. Note that Everest stays hidden behind the Lhotse and Nuptse wall from here. After a short hike, you reach Lobuche (4,960m).

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep
The trek starts on a rock-strewn trail through Khumbu Glacier toward Gorak Shep (5,170m). From there, you climb to Everest Base Camp (5,364m), the highest point reachable by trekking without mountaineering skills. At the base camp, you'll see the colorful camps set up by mountaineers during expeditions. The Khumbu Icefall is spectacular from here. Due to your proximity to the mountain, the complete view of Everest isn't visible, but you'll see Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Nuptse, and surrounding snowy peaks. You'll return to Gorak Shep (5,170m) for the night.

- Day 10
Gorak Shep to Kalapatthar to Pheriche
An early morning trek takes you to Kalapatthar (5,545m), the highest point of your trek and a famous viewpoint in the Khumbu region. At this elevation, higher than Everest Base Camp itself, you'll have a full panoramic view of Mt. Everest in close proximity. The sunrise above Everest is something to witness, along with views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse (7,750m), and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Since there's no accommodation at Kalapatthar, you'll trek back down to Pheriche (4,288m) for the night.

- Day 11
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
At dawn, you'll trek back through green woodlands toward Pangboche, then continue to Tengboche. Along the way, you might spot Himalayan Tahr, pheasants, or musk deer. The route descends along Dudh Koshi River to Phunki Tenga, then climbs through the Khumjung region past Sanasa Village. The trail leads back to Namche Bazaar (3,340m) for the night, bringing you back to familiar ground after the high altitude stretch.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
A downhill descent via suspension bridges takes you to Monjo, then the trail goes through Chumoa and Mondzo villages. Rhododendron and fir woodlands line the path with lush greenery and snowy mountain backdrops. More suspension bridges cross your route as you pass numerous Sherpa settlements before arriving at Phakding (2,610m). Continuing from Phakding, you reach Lukla (2,840m) where your mountain adventure ends.

Lukla to Kathmandu
The scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu takes roughly 30 minutes and offers lovely aerial views of the snow-capped Himalayan Range. You'll arrive back in Kathmandu with plenty of memories from the trek.

Kathmandu Departure
Your Everest Base Camp trek adventure concludes today. A tour representative will guide you to Kathmandu Airport 3 hours before your flight departs. A farewell dinner is included before you head home.
