There are some good options in Cappadocia, including the hot air ballooning, which can be subject to weather, but went ahead for us and was one of the amazing highlights of this trip! Trip date: April 2025- Caren James· April 19th, 2025Pick up time was ridiculous, spent 2 hours in traffic getting out of Athens. They told me they would pick up at 7:30 and didn't pick up until after 8. Communication was horrible. Driver and guide spent the 2 hours getting out of Athens talking loudly to each other and the guide did not give any info about the city we were traveling through, instead yelled back and forth with driver. Took another tour in Turkey and the guide was user friendly and always told us about areas we were going through. Guide was monotone and not interesting, just factual. Driver was often not looking where he was going, looking down or looking at guide in rear view mirror. Such a great range of diverse people and made a lot of friends. Everything was so well organised throughout the whole trip. Including hot air balloon in Cappadocia. Definitely recommend staying in a cave hotel as well! There isn’t much free time to do your own thing, but that worked well for me. I enjoyed the structure and all activities included. Our tour guide Nilufer was amazing! So much knowledge and so helpful translating to the locals for us. From start to finish, everything was well-organized, and we got to experience the best of Turkey’s history, culture, and stunning landscapes. A huge shoutout to our incredible tour guide, Nilufar, who went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable trip. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for sharing Turkey’s rich history truly made the experience special. We learned so much and never felt rushed—she made every stop engaging and enjoyable. Our driver, Mehmetbay, was equally fantastic! His driving skills were top-notch, ensuring a smooth and safe journey across Turkey’s breathtaking roads. Always professional and friendly, he made sure we were comfortable at all times. The accommodations were great, though some nights were quite hot as the hotels couldn’t adjust the air conditioning settings. While that was a minor inconvenience, it didn’t take away from the overall experience—we still rate this tour a full 5 stars! Except for the one in Cappadocia, which was obviously not a five-star hotel, but rather a three-star at best. The guide was highly informed and had a terrific sense of fun.
