We did an extra game drive in the park that was definitely worth it. Jakes is a great guide with a huge knowledge about the history of South Africa and the flora and fauna in and around the park. Asked on August 23rd, 2025We will be arriving at Johannesburg airport at 5.05am and would like to do this tour this day with you (if we can), but will there be enough time to get through customs and onto your shuttle by 8.00am at the latest? We were hoping to go straight to Kruger but don't want to miss your shuttle.

Most of the game drives in Kruger Park take place in my closed minibus, and there are no age restrictions for people here. We drive for 3 hours on the second day as we enter the park, and another 4 hours on the last day before exiting. There is a Sunset Game Drive of 3 hours on the second evening where you do a drive on an open safari vehicle, and Kruger Park have the following rule: "Children under the age of 6 are not permitted to take part in these activities for their own safety." They explained to me that they or you would not be covered by insurance if something might happen. I never experienced anything bad happening, so we can say the child is 6, unless they ask a birth certificate. The choice is yours to consider taking him on the 3 hour drive, but their is an option, parents can take turns to do game drives as there are other drives as well, like the early morning drive.
