Airport to Galle
You'll get picked up from Bandaranaike International Airport or your hotel in Colombo, Negombo, or Mount Lavinia, then head down to Galle for your first night. The drive takes you along the coast, and you'll settle in once you arrive.

Galle to Sinharaja
After breakfast, you'll walk through the historic Galle Dutch Fort, which dates back to 1588 and got heavily fortified by the Dutch over the centuries. From there, you'll head to Sinharaja for an afternoon guided trek through the UNESCO-listed rainforest, where you'll see thick vegetation and tropical wildlife.

- Day 3
Sinharaja to Nuwara Eliya
You'll travel to Nuwara Eliya in the Central Highlands after breakfast, moving into cooler mountain terrain. In the afternoon, there's a city tour where you'll check out Victoria Park, Gregory Lake, the 19th-century Golf Club, and drive through neighborhoods filled with colonial-era English-style houses that give the town its distinctive character.

Horton Plains and Tea Plantation
You'll start before dawn with a packed breakfast to reach Horton Plains and World's End viewpoint for a guided nature walk, catching the landscape as it lights up. Later in the afternoon, you'll tour Pedro's Tea Factory (built in 1885) and visit a working tea plantation where you can pluck tea leaves alongside estate workers.

Nuwara Eliya to Kandy
After breakfast, you're heading to Kandy for a guided city tour that includes the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a walk around Kandy Lake, and a gem lapidary tour. By evening, there's a traditional cultural show that gives you a sense of local performing arts and dance traditions.

Kandy to Sigiriya
You'll travel toward Sigiriya after breakfast, stopping first at the Dambulla Cave Temple with its five caves featuring about 2000 square meters of painted walls and ceilings. In the afternoon, you'll explore Sigiriya Rock Fortress from the 5th century, which has unique architectural features and ancient irrigation systems built right into the rock.

Polonnaruwa
After breakfast, you'll spend the day at Polonnaruwa, one of Sri Lanka's best-preserved archaeological sites. You'll see ancient dagobas, parks, massive stone buildings, and statues throughout the site, plus the Sea of Parakrama, a 12th-century man-made water reservoir that's still impressive today.

- Day 8
Anuradhapura and Mihintale
You'll head to Anuradhapura after breakfast to see the ancient city's well-preserved ruins and the oldest historically documented tree on earth. Later in the afternoon, you'll visit Mihintale Buddhist Monastery, where Buddhism took root in Sri Lanka after Mahinda Maha Thero met with King Devamnampiyatissa back in 250 BC.
