The path is steep and can be quite demanding, especially during the final stretch near the summit. The descent can also be tough on the knees, so a good level of endurance, leg strength, and cardiovascular fitness is essential. Horton Plains Trekking Fitness Level Required: Trekking in Horton Plains is less strenuous compared to Adam's Peak, requiring a moderate fitness level. The trek usually covers around 9-10 kilometers (approximately 5-6 miles) on relatively flat terrain with some gentle inclines. The hike can take around 3 to 4 hours to complete, depending on your pace and the time spent at viewpoints like World's End and Baker's Falls.
