The climb involves navigating approximately 5,500 steps, and the journey can take between 2 to 4 hours depending on your pace and fitness level. The path is steep and can be quite demanding, especially during the final stretch near the summit. The descent can also be tough on the knees, so a good level of endurance, leg strength, and cardiovascular fitness is essential. Horton Plains Trekking Fitness Level Required: Trekking in Horton Plains is less strenuous compared to Adam's Peak, requiring a moderate fitness level. The trek usually covers around 9-10 kilometers (approximately 5-6 miles) on relatively flat terrain with some gentle inclines. The hike can take around 3 to 4 hours to complete, depending on your pace and the time spent at viewpoints like World's End and Baker's Falls.
