You'll arrive in Rio de Janeiro and head to your hotel in Copacabana with those famous beach views right there. This evening you'll join your Travel Director and the group for a welcome dinner to kick things off.

- Day 2
Rio de Janeiro
Take the historic cable car up to Urca Hill and then continue to Sugarloaf Mountain's summit where you'll see sweeping views over Guanabara Bay and Copacabana. You'll learn why the mountain got its name from the sugar trade days. After that, you'll drive past Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. The afternoon is yours to do what you like, though there's an optional visit to the colorful Selarón Steps or the Roxy Dinner Show if you're interested this evening.

The rest of the day is free for you. This evening, you'll learn how to mix a caipirinha and then sit down for a sizzling barbecue dinner at a local churrascaria.

Along the way, you'll learn about the diverse fauna and plant species living in this unique environment. Later, you'll cross the border to Argentina and check into your hotel.

A guided jungle walk takes you to discover the 'Spirit of the Trees' with aboriginal experts. The afternoon has optional boat tours or Argentine cultural dining experiences available.

Visit a local workshop where artisans craft traditional alpargatas shoes, then check out a gaucho painter's studio for a drawing demonstration. The day ends with an asado steak dinner at a family-owned gaucho ranch, which includes horseback riding demonstrations, music, dance, and a leather gift.

Lima
Explore Lima's UNESCO-listed Historic Centre with a Local Specialist and see the colonial heritage. You'll admire the ornate baroque facades of the Church of San Francisco and explore its hidden catacombs. Next, you'll meet Chef Ignacio Barrios and visit a local market to learn about Peruvian ingredients. From there, you'll head to his cooking school for a demonstration on preparing popular Peruvian dishes, followed by a Be My Guest lunch where you'll taste the food. The afternoon is yours to do as you please.

Fly from Lima to Cusco and the Sacred Valley. You'll visit Manos de la Comunidad Weaving Centre to learn about local textile traditions and the four Andean camels. Meet master Quechua weaver Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez, who preserves ancient pre-Columbian weaving techniques. You'll stay overnight at a former 18th-century colonial-style monastery hotel.
