He came to visit us the day before the trip and helped us locate appropriate gear. He genuinely cared about us and making our experience wonderful. The pace was a bit slow for us, so we ended up speeding up the tour and completed the route in 5 days, which we were very happy with! Juma was very accommodating, friendly and kind. Communication (which my husband did since the trip was for our honeymoon) was done between my now husband and Debs. I believe it was all very smooth. I have done the Machame and others and did not find the scenery on Rongai as amazing as the other side but it offers a different view of the mountain. It is drier too. The forest is a lot narrower than Machame but we still loved the journey. Reaching the summit via Kibo was also a new experience.
