Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Pokhara
You'll have breakfast in Kathmandu then head out on a bus journey through the Prithvi Highway toward Pokhara. The drive takes about 6 to 7 hours and winds through the western Himalayan foothills, so there's plenty to see from your window. By evening you'll reach Pokhara, where you can walk around the lake city or take a boat out on Phewa Lake before settling in at your accommodation.

Pokhara to Nayapul to Hile
You'll drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, which takes roughly 2 hours, then the trekking begins. From there you'll walk to Hile over about 3 to 4 hours, staying close to the Modi River with views of local villages, hills, and the surrounding mountains. By evening you'll arrive at the guesthouse for dinner and rest.

Landmarks Modi River - Day 3
Hile to Ghorepani
An early start takes you trekking to Ghorepani through Tikhedhunga and Ulleri, where you'll see how the Magar people live in these hills. The trail passes through oak and rhododendron forests before reaching Banthanti village. After that final climb, you'll arrive at Ghorepani teahouse at 2,840m for the night.

Ghorepani to Poonhill to Tadapani
You'll start very early to reach Poonhill (3,210m) for sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After watching the light hit the mountains, you'll head back to Ghorepani for breakfast, then continue walking through forests to Deurali and on to Tadapani at 2,610m where you'll stay the night.

Tadapani to Sinuwa
Trekking from Tadapani takes you down through rhododendron forests and past a traditional Gurung village where you can observe daily life there. The path becomes easier once you reach the village. You'll have lunch at Chhomrung, then finish the day's walk at Sinuwa at 2,340m for overnight accommodation.

Landmarks Chhomrung Sinuwa - Day 6
Sinuwa to Himalayan Hotel
You've got a longer day ahead, about 5 to 6 hours reaching Himalayan Hotel. The trail drops to the Chhomrung Khola river, climbs through Khuldighar where an old check post once stood, then descends steeply to Dovan at the bottom of the gorge. From there about 1.5 hours through thick forest gets you to Himalayan Hotel at 2,900m.

Himalayan Hotel to Annapurna Base Camp
You'll start early for the push to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,131m, taking about 5 to 6 hours total. You'll stop briefly at Machhapuchhre Base Camp for lunch, then continue along the Modi River to reach the base camp where mountains surround you on all sides. The sunset here is exceptional before settling into your guest house.

Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo
After time at the base camp, you'll head back down retracing the same route, which takes roughly 6 hours. The descent covers a lot of elevation loss, about 1,700m, following the Modi River valley the whole way to reach Bamboo at 2,345m. You'll have a bit of time to look around before spending the night at a local guest house.

Landmarks Bamboo - Day 9
Bamboo to Jhinu Danda
You'll trek across stone steps built and maintained by local communities, paths that serve as mountain routes for people and donkey caravans carrying goods through the region. Lunch happens at Sinuwa at 2,250m with views of the Annapurnas stretching out before you. Then past Modi Khola, up to Chomrung, and down to Jhinu Danda where you'll stay at a tea house.

Jhinu Danda to Pothana
Crossing the Modi River at New Bridge brings you to Landruk, a Gurung village known for its honey hunters who climb cliff faces to collect honey, stories that are quite remarkable. You'll climb up to Deurali village at 2,149m, then descend to Pothana for an overnight stay at a local tea house.

Pothana to Kathmandu
After breakfast in Pokhara, you'll return to Kathmandu on the same scenic route, about 6 hours back. The journey passes mountains, valleys, farmland, and small villages along the way. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you'll check into your hotel for the final night, marking the end of your trek.
