  Mongolia is not a country you can travel without a tour if you want to visit the grasslands and desert outside of the capital city, and this was the perfect length of tour to join as someone who had limited time. Both my driver, Muugii, and my guide, Unu, were phenomenal. Muugii knew every road by heart and was so patient in helping me spot the Takhi wild horse, which were what drew me to Mongolia in the first place. Unu answered all my random questions and made my first solo trip feel not lonely at all. While at first, I struggled staying with a nomadic family with no running water, I enjoyed seeing and experiencing their way of life. Getting to make lamb dumplings with the grandma was very meaningful to me. I love horses and seeing all the horses everywhere truly made my heart happy.

  I found the tour group very easy to communicate with and quick to respond, which I really appreciated. We covered a good amount of Mongolia, and I enjoyed the authenticity of the homestays. My guide was informative and easy to get along with. I especially liked the two tourist ger stays—the first one felt peaceful and genuine, while the second was crowded and a bit too touristy for my taste. There was a lot of time spent in the car, which was tough; my favorite moments were the walks I took on my own, outside the planned itinerary, to experience Mongolia’s natural beauty. Coming from the U.S., it was a bit of an adjustment traveling in a less developed country, especially to remote, off-road locations. I barely slept for five days due to the uncomfortable accommodations and am still dealing with fatigue. I’d suggest adding more evening activities, and offering more to see on the third, fourth, and especially the long fifth day drive back. I really like making dumplings with one of the homestays which I asked to do. Once again I feel like it would be better if we got to actually participate in the nomadic lifestyle. Western travelers should be warned about the bumpy back roads—I was extremely carsick. It was also hard to connect with the people at the homestays, so I sometimes felt isolated. Still, the trip was special: I enjoyed the food, valued the guide’s knowledge and kindness, and loved my solo hikes and temple visits.

  Rating this four stars, not just for the tour, but for Mongolia as a travel destination as a whole. First, if you've researched the country you already know the roads are rough, that goes doubly when a tour involves long hours of driving in between locations. Be prepared. Guide and driver were friendly and the activities were generally well received, although I think the second stay with a nomad family could be either replaced or retooled, perhaps with a different cultural activity? Overall, an enjoyable time, but infrastructure is underdeveloped and tourism is still very much in it's early stages.

  If you are an adventure lover, this is an amazing tour of Mongolia! Packed with fun activities and super interesting places to visit. We really enjoyed our time! Everything was organised to the detail. Our guide was great: knowledgeable, kind and super friendly. He went above and beyond his duties to ensure we were comfortable. The driver was very polite and professional, and the staff member who dealt with our booking and pre-trip advice was really helpful. My friend left her phone behind in the taxi to the airport, and they went to collect it and posted it to us! Amazing... I totally recommend booking a tour with this company :)

  *finishing review* Karakorm hostel was abit of a let down in comparison to the rest of the tour. The food bad as I ordered tofu ramen and got pink bloody looking chicken in a broth upon soup. I think this part could be changed to meet the amazingness of the rest. Especially as there are waterfalls, spas and rivers around that area. On the whole, it was an amazing experience that truly filled me with much happiness, kindness and understanding of the country.

  I had an incredible time. The ger homestays were truly amazing, the people warm kind and welcoming and it was a raw homely setting of country life. I loved the long sencic drives of endless nature and beauty. My guide Shinebayer went above and beyond to make it memorable, from asking about airag, helping me to feed a baby sheep at sunset, letting me explore the sand dunes and showing me where to go for nice walks. He always made sure inwas good, fed well and not dehydrated. Communication and cultural exchange was enjoyed. Karakorum was a little bit of a let down compared to the rest of the tour being so so amazing. Around this day there were alot of gaps which you have to entertain yourself.   A great experience, getting a taste of different environments, experiencing a little bit of the traditional nomadic culture and food, all with the help of a knowledgeable and friendly guide. Ulaanbaatar traffic is no joke, but once outside the city you really start to feel the immense openness and beautiful expanse of the countryside. Highly recommended.
