Itinerary
- Day 1
Phnom Penh
Your guide picks you up at 7:30 AM from your hotel to spend the day exploring Phnom Penh's cultural sites. The morning takes you to Oudong, a UNESCO World Heritage Site about an hour north, where you'll see several temples and three large stupas including a 30-meter-high Vihara dedicated to the Buddha. On the drive back into the city, you'll stop at Kompong Luong, a silversmith village where local artisans work with traditional techniques. After lunch, the afternoon focuses on Phnom Penh proper, starting with Wat Phnom temple sitting on a small hill in the city center. Next comes the Royal Palace with its ornate architecture and peaceful gardens, then you'll walk through the Silver Pagoda to see its intricate decorations and religious artifacts. The day wraps up at the National Museum, where you can take time looking through galleries of Khmer art and historical pieces before heading back to your hotel by evening.
