Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival at Agriturismo La Pietriccia
You'll arrive at Agriturismo La Pietriccia and take a walk out to the old town to get your bearings. Later in the evening, Stefano, who runs the place, will give you a briefing on what's ahead. Then you'll settle in for your first home-cooked dinner right there at the agriturismo.

Landmarks Chianciano Vecchia - Day 2
Mountain Views and Lake Chiusi
Morning starts with mountain views and forest tracks leading toward Montallese, then continuing on to Lake Chiusi. After lunch, you'll head onto the Sentiero della Bonifica long distance path to reach Lake Montepulciano, a nature reserve that's great for spotting birds. By evening you're back at the agriturismo for dinner.

Radicofani to Lake Montepulciano
A transfer takes you to Radicofani, the highest point around with incredible views across Val d'Orca. From there you'll cycle to Contignano, which is known for its pecorino cheese and where you'll have lunch. After that, you descend through forest past the private gardens at La Foce. Back at the agriturismo, you'll have wine and local produce tasting in the old town before dinner.

Medieval Towns and La Frateria Convent
You'll descend along country tracks that pass through a truffle-growing area and cross the Astrone stream. Cycling through valleys gets you to the medieval town of Sarteano, then on to Cetona. From there you climb to Mondo X to visit La Frateria, one of Italy's best restaurants inside a beautiful convent founded by St Francis back in 1212. You'll return to the hotel for dinner that evening.

Relaxation Day in Chianciano
This is a relaxation day at the agriturismo where you can choose your activity. Either do an olive oil tasting or walk over to Chianciano Vecchia to check out the Etruscan Museum. On the way back, you have a thermal spa voucher to soak in the healing waters if that appeals to you.

Vineyards and Montepulciano
You'll cycle through vineyards on the route to Montepulciano, taking time to look at the views of Mount Amiata along the way. Once there, you'll wander Montepulciano's winding medieval streets before cycling back to Chianciano.

Landmarks Montepulciano Mount Amiata - Day 7
Pienza and Val d'Orcia
A short transfer brings you to Pienza, one of Italy's top cheese destinations, where you'll explore its beautiful medieval historic center. You can pick up local food like porchetta sandwiches or Pecorino cheese, then ride downhill across the Val d'Orcia plains. There's a detour to Roman Bagno Vignoni with its baths and sulphur springs, then you'll follow a long straight Roman road, cross the valley, and climb back into Chianciano.
