Oslo
You're arriving in Oslo, Norway's capital, and this is your chance to settle in before the main tour starts. The city has a lot going on, so showing up a day or two early really helps you get oriented. If you want to join the group tonight, they're organizing traditional Norwegian dinner so you can try some local specialties right away.

Oslo to Trondheim
Today you'll take a train out of Oslo through the Norwegian countryside heading to Trondheim, the former capital where kings were crowned. The city itself sits on the Trondheimsfjord with hills rising around it, and the Nidelva River runs through town with colorful wooden buildings lining the banks. Check in with your leader about where to find the best fresh seafood restaurants in the area.

Trondheim to Bodø
Start with an easy walk around Lianvatnet, a freshwater lake in the Bymarka forest reserve with grassy slopes and quiet paths all around. After you head back to Trondheim, you'll board the Hurtigruten ferry, a ship that's been running these routes for over 130 years. The voyage takes you along the Norwegian coast toward Bodø, and you'll spend the night onboard enjoying regional food and coastal views.

Bodø to Svolvaer
You arrive in Bodø this morning and get to explore this modern city that was rebuilt after World War II. The surrounding rugged mountains are home to tons of white-tailed sea eagles, so you'll likely spot them flying overhead. Grab food or a drink by the harbor and watch them circle around, or take an optional bus ride to Saltstraumen to see the world's strongest tidal current. Later you'll take a ferry to the Lofoten Islands and check into a traditional rorbu, which are historic fishermen's homes now set up as guest accommodations.

Svolvaer
This morning you're heading out on a RIB boat into Trollfjord, a narrow waterway where you'll see sea eagles flying really close overhead. You'll also explore small islands and skerries around the Raftsundet Strait. The rest of the afternoon is yours to do what you want, and there are several optional activities available if you're interested in doing more.

Svolvaer
After breakfast, you can do an easy hike to Linken Peak, which takes about 2 hours and sits 105 meters above sea level with views of the surrounding mountains and sea. If you want something more challenging, your leader can take you to Tjeldbergtinden for even more extensive views over the fjords and Svolvaer. Those wanting a slower day can skip the second hike and relax after Linken Peak.

Svolvaer to Tromsø
You're leaving the Lofoten Islands today for Tromsø, and it's a scenic journey. First a local bus takes you to Harstad where you have free time to walk around or grab lunch. Then you'll take a ferry past amazing scenery, fjords, and a maelstrom until you reach Tromsø, which is way up past the Arctic Circle. The city is northern Norway's cultural hub with festivals and music events. You'll have the evening free when you arrive.

Tromsø
The morning starts with an e-bike city tour where a local guide shows you what life is like north of the Arctic Circle. You'll visit MS Polstjerna, an old seal hunting ship that's still standing, a 19th century farmstead, and Prestvannet lake. The rest of your day is flexible, so you can check out the Polar Museum or Tromsø Museum to learn regional history, look at galleries, or take a boat out in the surrounding waters. Olhallen is the city's oldest pub and part of the historic Mack Brewery from 1877. There's also an optional group dinner if you want to join.
