Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo
You'll arrive at Colombo airport and get picked up for transfer to your hotel. The afternoon and evening are free time, so settle in and get comfortable. If you feel like exploring, there's plenty to do around the city like checking out the Floating Market, wandering through Independence Square, hitting up some shops and restaurants, or catching some of the local nightlife scene.

Colombo to Dambulla/Sigiriya
Transfer heads toward the Dambulla and Sigiriya area. By evening, you can visit the Cave Temple if you're interested, which contains five separate cave temples filled with around 150 Buddha statues and ancient cave paintings from the 1st century B.C., all topped with a golden Buddha statue at the entrance.

Dambulla/Sigiriya to Kandy
Head to Kandy, which is really the cultural and religious center of the whole country. On the way there, you have the option to stop at a spice garden in Matale where you can learn how local spices are grown and sip some herbal tea. Later in the evening, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the most important religious site in Kandy. After that, you can walk through the Kandy City Centre and local markets, and if you want, catch a traditional cultural show.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Travel to Nuwara Eliya, a colonial hill station in the highlands. During the drive, there's an optional stop at a tea factory where you'll learn about how Ceylon Tea is made and get to taste some yourself. In the evening, explore the colonial character of Nuwara Eliya with its historic buildings, the well-known golf course, lake views, and all the tea plantations surrounding the town.

- Day 6
Galle
After breakfast, visit Galle and walk through the historic Dutch Fort, which still functions as a living community with shops, offices, and courts inside. The streets have Dutch colonial architecture throughout, and you can see the old gate with the British coat of arms, check out the Zwart Bastion and lighthouse, and browse the Dutch Hospital Shopping Complex. This place has over 3 centuries of history built into it.
