- AJerry· June 4th, 20231. The 5 wine tastings were wonderful and were all different, covering huge wineries all the way through to small family run places. 2. The night at O Fado in Porto was absolutely brilliant (food, wine, music, service - all for 60 euros) and a fitting end to trip. 3. The piglet meal in Segovia; lamb meal in Penafiel; hotel restaurant in Fermoselle - all fabulous!Show moreTrip date: May 2023Review collected by Explore!

- AGail· September 22nd, 2023Segovia was awesome. On my own there and in Porto, I hunted down the historic (destroyed) Jewish Quarters because I was the only one interested in that. I have some Sephardic roots. Also loved Quinta da Pacheca! (but I also missed 3 wine tastings and the cheese tasting was cancelled due to construction)Show moreTrip date: September 2023Review collected by Explore!

- AIan· November 25th, 2023Enjoyed all of the walks (4 in all) in the natural parks. Segovia was a fantastic city, but we also really liked Fermoselle. The winery visits were great, especially Mazas. The train trip along the Douro valley. The hotels in both Penafiel and Lamego were great, and also had very good restaurants. We had a fun group of people on the trip and our guide Gabriel was very good.Show moreTrip date: October 2023Review collected by Explore!

What our customers ask about this tour
The content in our FAQ section is subject to change.- CCynthia Asked on August 11th, 2025I noticed there have not been any recent reviews, not since 2023, why is this? I will be 65 years of age when we are considering doing this tour and like to walk but I note the walks are sometimes over 11 kms. Is this tour something I will cope with? When we are walking is our luggage transported for us from hotel to hotel? I believe at the time of the year the we are considering it will be very warm, is there risk of bush fires? Explore!Operator•Written August 2025 Explore!Operator•Written August 2025- Sometimes we may not run a tour for a year so we can focus on updating it and making it better. We pop the walking information on there so you can make sure this tour may or may not be the one for you. However, this tour is considered our lowest pace at 'leisurely'. When we are walking, it's never a race, nor are we trying to rush anyone. The 11kms is over a duration of 4 hours, we will always rest, take breaks, refill our water bottles and make sure everyone is comfortable. We only have the one departure both in June and July because of the warmer weather, but for some people it's when they prefer to travel. Wildfires can occur in Spain and Portugal, but June is generally before the peak summer fire season. Conditions do vary from year to year, so we recommend checking local safety updates closer to your departure.

- LLydia Asked on November 25th, 2023Is there a single supplement as I would be travelling on my own, Don't have a date yet. Explore!Operator•Written November 2023 Explore!Operator•Written November 2023- If you are happy to share a room with another female sharer then there is no additional supplement. However if you would like your own room there is a single supplement, this varies dependant on the date of travel but is advised in the trip details.
