Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kas

You'll arrive in Kas, a laid-back fishing town on Turkey's Lycian coast, at any time that works for you. If you're flying into Dalaman International Airport (about 3 hours away, 150km), a complimentary transfer is available. Spend the day however you'd like - some people head straight to the hotel pool, others explore the town's restaurants and local scene. Your welcome meeting happens tomorrow morning, so today is really just about settling in.

A barbecue lunch gets served while you're out on the water before heading back to Kas in the afternoon. Once back in town, you can wander through cafes and restaurants that line the cobbled streets, and check out the network of tiny backalleys that wind through the old town.

If it's particularly hot or humid, the guide may switch to a higher altitude walk around Mt Bozkaya's cedar treeline instead.

A lovely trip, we had to slightly change the return itinerary with the boat due to the weather and came back closer to Fethiye earlier than planned which meant an opportunity to visit Gemiler island with the ruined churches which was actually one of my favorite places we visited.

The tour was ok, but the walking in the mountains was difficult as the path consisted entirely of large stones. The guide for this tour was not good at all - he was disinterested in talking to any members of the group and constantly spoke Turkish to other guides most of the time. He did not accompany the group on any excursions to explain the history of old sites. I would recommend that Explore send this tour guide to extensive training on how to treat guest better, however I feel that he is not really suited to this job. He was very disengaged from us.
