Itinerary
- Day 1
Belize City
You'll arrive in Belize City and check into your hotel whenever works with your flight. At 6pm, your tour leader meets you at the hotel reception to go over the itinerary, answer any questions, and make sure everyone knows what to expect for the next couple weeks.
Landmarks/POIs Belize City - Day 2
Belize City to Crooked Tree
Head inland from Belize City to the Community Baboon Sanctuary where you'll see Yucatecan black howler monkeys in their natural setting. After that, continue to Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary for a two-night stay on the lagoon's shores. There's optional kayaking or a sunset cruise if you want to spot more wildlife before dinner.

Crooked Tree
Start early or catch the sunrise with a boat exploration of the lagoon for birdwatching. Then head to New River for an upstream boat ride to Lamanai, the 2000-year-old Mayan temple complex hidden in the jungle. Your guide will take you through the ruins while you keep an eye out for crocodiles along the riverbank. You'll return to the lodge by afternoon.

Crooked Tree to San Ignacio
Take a short morning walk around Crooked Tree settlement to learn about its colonial history and the logwood extraction trade. Later, travel by bus to San Ignacio, a traditional Belizean town on the Macal River. In the afternoon, visit a green iguana breeding programme, then the rest of your time is free to check out the pool or explore town on your own.

San Ignacio
Bus to the Mayan site of Xunantunich, where you'll cross the River Mopan on a hand-winched ferry. Climb the massive El Castillo pyramid for views out over the forest toward Guatemala. In the afternoon, visit the Green Hills Butterfly Farm and hike to Big Rock Falls, a waterfall with two large natural pools for swimming.

San Ignacio
This is your free day to choose from several options. You could head to Tikal, the massive archaeological site just across the border in Guatemala, or try Cahal Pech closer to home. Adventure caving in the ATM Caves is another option, or you could spend the day at the Belize Botanical Gardens and paddle back along the Macal River.

San Ignacio to Tobacco Caye
Travel south on the scenic Hummingbird Highway with a stop at Blue Hole National Park to explore cave systems and swim in a crystal-clear limestone sinkhole surrounded by jungle. Continue through orange and cacao groves until you reach Tobacco Caye, a small tropical island that's a 20-minute boat ride from Dangriga Town.

Tobacco Caye
Spend your free day on this small island doing what you like. You can snorkel at nearby coral cayes, visit Bird Island sanctuary, explore the barrier reef, or try a fishing tour or manatee watching. If you prefer to chill out, there's beach volleyball, kayaking, or just hanging in a hammock.

Tobacco Caye to Maya Mountains
Catch the tropical island sunrise and grab an optional pre-breakfast snorkel if you're up for it. The morning is yours for kayaking, snorkelling, or relaxing. After lunch, take a boat back to Dangriga and then drive into the Maya Mountains to a biology field station. You'll start some hands-on wildlife research this evening with a bat misting net session.

Landmarks/POIs Maya Mountains - Day 10
Maya Mountains
There's an optional pre-breakfast forest trail walk to spot wildlife like Belize's national bird, the Keel Billed Toucan. During the day, choose between a full-day jungle adventure to Davis Falls (Belize's second-highest waterfall) with eight river crossings, or a more relaxed trip to Billy Barquedir National Park with its waterfall and natural pool.

Maya Mountains to Caye Caulker
Take a one-hour water taxi to Caye Caulker, a small tropical island 34 kilometres northeast of Belize City. The journey can get busy and choppy depending on weather conditions. You'll arrive at your hotel and have free time to settle in and explore the island a bit.

Caye Caulker
Free day to relax or pick from optional activities. You can snorkel at the nearby Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark and Ray Alley, take a full-day trip to the Manatee Reserve in the mangrove habitat, or go scuba diving. Just lounging on this Caribbean island is always an option too.

Caye Caulker
Another free day to relax or do optional activities. Caye Caulker sits inside coral reefs that are great for swimming and snorkelling. Bike hire is available so you can explore the island at your own pace, taking in the Caribbean views, coral sand beaches, and palm trees.

Landmarks/POIs Caye Caulker Reef - Day 14
Caye Caulker to Belize City
Your tour ends at your hotel on Caye Caulker. Take a one-hour water taxi to Belize City and then a road transfer to Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport for your flight home. The first water taxi leaves at 6am if you have an early departure, with the earliest flight at 9:30am. Later taxi transfers are available for flights departing later in the day.
