After stopping for a picnic lunch at the trailhead, you'll hike 4 miles through coastal forest to reach Shi Shi Beach. You'll ford small creeks and navigate tidal flats covered with barnacle-encrusted boulders when the tide is low, or scramble over steep overland routes with handlines when tide comes in. By afternoon you'll reach Seafield Creek and set up camp, leaving time to relax and have dinner before the evening.

Once across, the toughest sections are behind you. Head south toward Cape Alava, the westernmost point of the contiguous United States, and watch for Tskawahyah Island to the west. Keep an eye out for sea life during your travels, then settle in for one final dramatic sunset and night on the beach.

    Asked on May 25th, 2023

Hi! This is Julie. I'm also interested in the Olympic Basecamp Tour leaving on June 26, 2023. Is there still space and what is the single-supplement price for this?

    Tour Details
    • Wildland TrekkingOperatorWritten May 2023

There is one spot available on our Wild Olympic Coast Tour as well as there being space available on our Olympic Basecamp Tour, June 26-29. The rate for that trip is $1735. Please note, with the Wild Olympic Coast Trip being very close to departing, we would need for you to complete our online registration form immediately. Have you backpacked previously? Carried a 30-40 pound backpack? This is a level 4 out of 5 difficulty so we just need to make sure all guests are prepared.
