The hiking on this trip is fairly moderate. The trails are well-maintained and there isn't a lot of elevation gain. With that in mind, the starting elevation is around 7,000 feet so that may make you feel a bit more tired than you are used to. We do ask all of our guests to train and be prepared to hike several miles for days in a row. The more prepared you are, the more fun you will have.

On this trip we're carrying small day packs of about 10-15lbs instead of heavy backpacking packs, and the majority of the trails are well-maintained. The starting elevation and elevation gain on the Day 2 ascent of Mount Washburn can be more strenuous for guests that live close to sea level (we get up to 10,200ft). Overall I think it's a pretty good choice for folks of all ages and ability levels, though of course everyone has unique concerns. When you sign up for a trip you'd complete a registration form that will ask you more about your activity level and health, and if our team has any concerns for you based on that, they might reach out to discuss with you further.

This trip is actually based out of Jackson, Wyoming, rather than Bozeman, Montana. You can expect this trip to conclude at approximately 7:00 PM on the last day, June 24. We recommend guests book travel out of the area the day after the trip ends, in this case June 25.
