This adventure tour was top notch! Russ has a very extensive knowledge of the south island and built an adventure that included the pest attractions, lodging and meals that left nothing to chance. He clearly spelled out daily itinerary so we were prepared for the day, and went out of his way to accommodate everyone's needs. Never a minute late meeting us and extremely well prepared. The planning and care given, and all the worries removed, turned this into the vacation of a lifetime. This tour is highly recommended.

    Asked on February 7th, 2023

Will we have a chance to visit Mt John Observatory on day 2 night? May I know where will we live and eat every day before booking? I would like to try some adventure activities. Should I book them by myself, or the guide can help me get discounts? Does the tour fee cover the fee of visiting Glowworms on day 7? Will we have BBQ on TSS Earnslaw steamship?

      1. Yes. We will stay in Tekapo on night 2 and so if there is space available you can book onto a Mt John star gazing tour. 2. Your guide chooses where we eat daily based on our location and the groups dietaries and preferences. A few examples of accommodation are Brinkley Resort Methven, Clearbrook Wanaka and Red Tussock in Te Anau. 3. Your guide will be able to recommend great activities and can help you make arrangements whilst on tour. 4. Glow worms tours are not part of this itinerary however there is time for you to do this in Te Anau and your guide can help you arrange it. 5. Unfortunately due to some changes brought about by Covid-19 we will not be cruising on the TSS Earnslaw this season, hopefully we'll continue next season as things come back to normal.

Do we only go kayaking at Milford Sound, or we can also experience the cruise or underwater observatory? Can the guide give me a ride to Mt John or Good shepherd Church at night? May I know when will the free time start at the Day 9 and 10?

    • Adventure JunkiesOperatorWritten February 2023

At this present time there isn't availability for the kayaking in Milford Sound, however that does mean that we can instead include a full cruise of Milford Sound for you which includes a visit to the underwater observatory. The Church of the Good Shepherd is a short 10 minute flat walk from your accommodation in Tekapo. If you partake in a stargazing tour then it will include transport up Mt John. Our guides MAY be able to take you up there but it depends on timings. Day nine does not have much in the way of free time, however you can make arrangements for the afternoon of day 10. There will be additional free time all day on day 6 in Queenstown which you can make arrangements for as well as the morning of day 7 in Queenstown.
