Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Guilin

Your private guide and driver meet you at the airport in Guilin. After getting settled at your hotel, you'll head to Elephant Trunk Hill, a naturally-formed rock that looks like an elephant drinking from the Li River. From there, walk through East West Street, a 1,400-year-old thoroughfare dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The stone pathways and historic architecture give you a real sense of what this place was like centuries ago.

    Guilin to Longsheng

Following breakfast at your hotel, the drive to Longsheng takes about two hours. Once you arrive, you'll hike up to the viewing point for the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces, where you can see the terraced fields covering the mountainsides. Afterward, visit villages belonging to the Zhuang Minority People to see their traditional wooden stilt houses and learn about their way of life and local customs.

You'll arrive in early afternoon, then explore the Yangshuo countryside by bike or in a private car. Stop at a local villager's home to get a feel for rural life, and as evening approaches, walk around West Street, Yangshuo's oldest street, filled with shops and traditional buildings.

My Guide Arther and Driver were amazing, the itinerary was perfect, the hotels were great and the food was also great. It was very expensive due to traveling on my own but there weren’t any alternatives but it was a not to miss part of the world

    Katrina

    Asked on June 13th, 2018

What is the approximate cost for a meal at a local restaurant if I have it on my own? Is it easy for me to order from a Chinese menu?

    Meals
    Other
    • TravelChinaGuideOperatorWritten June 2018

It normally costs around CNY50 - CNY100 per person for one meal depending on the level of the restaurant you choose. Your guide will be on hand at all times to show you some recommended restaurants near the hotel and photographic menus are popular at most of the local restaurants, which will make it easier for you to order from the menu.
