Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Belgrade

    You'll land at Belgrade airport and transfer into the city to get settled. This first day is mainly about arrival and checking into your accommodation before the cycling adventure kicks off tomorrow.

  2. Day 2

    Belgrade to Skorenovac

    Spend the morning wandering around Belgrade at your own pace, grab lunch somewhere in the city, then head out for a short transfer to Pancevacki Bridge where you'll start cycling. From there, you'll ride along a dam and unpaved roads following the Danube, pass through Pancevo, and reach Skorenovac, a charming village and Europe's most southern Hungarian settlement. Dinner happens at a local Hungarian restaurant.

  3. Day 3

    Skorenovac to Smederevo and Loop Ride

    Today's route takes you through Kovin toward Smederevo and its fortress, which sits on a plateau where the Jezava and Danube rivers meet. It's the largest medieval lowland fortress in Europe, built between 1427 and 1430 as Serbia's temporary capital. After checking it out, you'll cycle through a loop around Kulic village before heading back to Skorenovac for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Skorenovac to Srebrno Jezero

    You'll cycle about 20km along the river on unpaved roads and through Nature Park Deliblatska Pescara. Later, you'll cross the Danube on a simple ferry from Stara Palanka to Ram, then continue to Srebrno Jezero, a well-known resort also called Silver Lake, where you'll spend the next two nights.

  5. Day 5

    Viminacium Roman Archeological Site

    From Silver Lake resort, you'll cycle to Viminacium, one of the region's most important Roman sites sometimes called the 'Balkan Pompeii'. This ancient Roman military camp once held 6,000 soldiers and served as capital of Upper Moesia. The site spans over 460 hectares with more than 14,000 excavated graves and 40,000 historical artifacts including over 700 gold and silver pieces discovered since 1882. You'll make a loop through the area and return via Ram and Zatonje.

  6. Day 6

    Golubac Fortress to Donji Milanovac

    After a 25km ride, you'll reach Golubac Fortress, your first stop of the day. Then you'll enter Djerdap Gorge and cycle through the national park along the river. Stop at Lepenski Vir, an important Mesolithic period archaeological site, before continuing to Donji Milanovac where you'll stay the night.

    You'll cycle through Djerdap National Park from Donji Milanovac toward Kladovo. On the way, visit Diana Fortress, a 2nd-century Roman structure. This is your final cycling day before heading back to Belgrade.

    Magnificent country. The hike was well organised, a few spots the trail hikes signs were broken, but that's not a Touradar problem. The accommodation was all good, the meals, especially the breakfasts were great. We are coming back!
