- Day 1
Nairobi
After arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you'll be picked up and driven to the Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi. This historic property opened back in 1902 and combines classic charm with modern facilities like a rooftop pool and gym. You'll have the evening to settle in and rest before your safari begins.

Nairobi to Shaba
You'll leave early following breakfast and drive north through scenic countryside, passing Mount Kenya on the way through Thika and Nanyuki. By lunchtime you'll reach Shaba National Reserve, the remote location where Born Free was filmed. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive to see what the reserve has to offer, then return to Sarova Shaba Lodge for dinner.

Landmarks Shaba National Reserve Mount Kenya - Day 3
Shaba
Start before sunrise for an early morning game drive through Shaba National Reserve where you can spot lions, elephants, leopards, and the distinctive reticulated giraffes. After the drive ends, grab breakfast back at the lodge. Spend the rest of the morning relaxing by the pool or on the terrace with views of the river. Following lunch, head back out for another afternoon game drive before returning for sunset and dinner.

Landmarks Shaba National Reserve - Day 4
Shaba to Lake Nakuru
Following breakfast, you'll drive south through Isiolo and Nanyuki toward Nyahururu, then continue to Lake Nakuru. The lake's pink-tinted waters are home to thousands of flamingos, creating one of the region's most distinctive sights. Check into Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, have lunch, and then set out for an afternoon game drive in the national park before dinner.

- Day 5
Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara
After breakfast you'll cross the Mau Escarpment and travel through Kenya's farming region toward Narok, the entry point to Maasai Mara. Once you arrive at Sarova Mara Game Camp, check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive in the reserve and watch for wildlife as the sun begins to set before returning for dinner.

- Day 6
Maasai Mara
You'll start early with breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive to search for the Big Five and other wildlife throughout Maasai Mara. Return to the lodge for lunch and a rest during the middle of the day. Later in the afternoon, head back out for another game drive, and this time you'll visit a local Maasai village. Head back for sunset and dinner at camp.

- Day 7
Maasai Mara to Nairobi
After saying goodbye to Maasai Mara, you'll drive south through wheat and barley farmland to Narok, then cross the Great Rift Valley plains where herds of giraffes and gazelles roam. As you travel, you'll climb up the rift escarpment and arrive back in Nairobi by around 1:30 pm, which gives you time to catch flights departing at 4:00 pm or later.
