Arrival in La Fortuna
Your guide meets you at the airport and drives you 2.5 hours to La Fortuna, nestled at the base of Arenal Volcano. After checking into your hotel and settling in, you'll have a welcome dinner to kick things off.

La Fortuna
Head out to a rural community to see traditional farming and watch local school children perform. Later in the afternoon, you'll join a class at someone's home where you'll make sugar cane juice and tortillas from scratch. By evening, you'll relax at the local hot springs.

La Fortuna to Monteverde
Start with hands-on time learning how cacao becomes chocolate, from the initial harvest all the way through production, and you'll taste the final product. That afternoon, you drive to Monteverde for dinner and a quiet evening to rest.

Monteverde
Walk through Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve on hanging bridges suspended through the canopy while mist surrounds you. The forest holds 2.5% of the world's biodiversity, so wildlife spotting is excellent. After dark, a naturalist guide takes you searching for nocturnal animals.

Monteverde to Quepos
Leave the forest and head toward Quepos, a surf town on the western coast. The five-hour drive winds through mountain roads with stops along the way to break things up. Once you arrive, spend time on the beaches at Manuel Antonio or walk around Quepos itself.

Landmarks/POIs Manuel Antonio - Day 6
Quepos
Visit a local rescue center that takes in injured animals from the rainforests and coastline. You'll help prepare food for sloths, toucans, monkeys, and anteaters while learning about Costa Rican wildlife and conservation work.

Quepos
Pick your own activity for the day: either go white water rafting on Class I and II rapids of the Rio Savegre, or hike through Manuel Antonio National Park watching for birds and other wildlife. Your final evening includes a farewell dinner with everyone in the group.
