I found the history of the city to be rich, the people were very welcoming, and in general is a relaxed atmosphere filled with a variety of food and culture. This is a city I can visit again. I would suggest if coming in June, do stay in a hotel with air conditioning. Budapest was a different experience. The city is busy and in speaking with locals everything is much more short and less pleasantry in conversation. I was disappointed with our city tour. It was to be an English only tour, but two Italians were added to our group. So our guide had to constantly flip back and forth when speaking which means we had less information and not really much time to ask questions. I applaud the guides ability to speak in different languages quickly, but I do feel I didn’t receive what I had paid for. In addition, it was warm out 26C/80F and our van with 14 people inside was simply hot and the driver would not tune the speed of the AC beyond 2 out of 5 on the dial. The Italians, Americans, Indians, and women from Montenegro were all hot and with the can weaving in/out of traffic made it easy to experience motion sickness. I also felt we were rushed to see and take in sites, yet we spent 5-10 minutes at a very tiny shop because our guide likes to stop there. That was a waste of time in my opinion. Would I visit Budapest again…no. Likewise, if I were on a boat going down the Danube I would stay on board. My suggestion would be to Prague with Salzburg or Dresden.Show moreTrip date: June 2025

There is an arrangement of travel plans set up ahead of time (hotel, transportation) but there may or may not be people in the same group (I did not have anyone participating in mine). For the accommodations you are getting, the prices are much higher than the actual cost. Furthermore, the few times I needed to contact the agency (could not find my driver one time and another time the driver ended up cancelling so I needed a taxi), there was no answer by phone or text. I am still waiting for the taxi refund 1.5 weeks later. This packages offers most of time at leisure therefore, you will be on your own to explore at your own pace. The only excursions we include would be a half day walking tour in each city with a guide and group. We do not offer private tours for 1 passengers unfortunately as we would need a minimum of 10 booking passengers in this case.

This amazing tour is semi-organized, meaning, you will have most days at leisure and only a half-a-day walking excursion in each city. You will be part of a group only during the city tours. You may not join these excursions, however, we highly recommend them as you will learn and experience a lot. In regards to transportation, we include your train tickets to get from Prague to Budapest and cannot replace that to have a car unfortunately.

Can we make the alteration to the trip and cut one night of hotel. If so, how much would that reduce our expense?

Unfortunately, we are not able to remove nights from a tour. You may leave earlier and forfeit the unused portion (1 night + drop off transfer). Would you consider the possibility of flying to Budapest instead of taking the train? This way you could use the last night and airport transfer. Alternatively, we could move the package date to start on June 1st (instead of June 2nd).
