Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi
You'll arrive in Hanoi and get picked up at the airport for transfer to your hotel. If your flight gets in early, the Old Quarter is right there to walk around, or you can check out the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum on foot. By 6 pm, you'll meet your trip leader and other travellers for a welcome meeting, then head to dinner at a traditional Vietnamese house-style restaurant with local dishes.

- Day 2
Hanoi to Halong Bay
The day involves traveling from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll board a traditional junk-style boat and sail through limestone karsts and islands. Lunch is served onboard with seafood, then you can explore caves and fishing villages with your leader. The afternoon gives you time to swim, kayak, or relax on the beach before dinner on deck and stargazing.

Halong Bay to Hanoi
Start with breakfast on the boat and the option to do Tai Chi before heading back to Hanoi. This afternoon brings a rare Hat Xam performance at a private club house. This ancient Northern Vietnamese art form from blind musicians hasn't been performed in decades. The 60-minute acoustic show might include audience participation.

- Day 4
Hanoi to Hoi An
You'll join a half-day tour visiting the Temple of Literature and Hoa Lo Prison with your leader. Lunch happens at KOTO café, a social enterprise supporting disadvantaged youth. Later you'll fly south to Danang and drive to Hoi An through green countryside. The rest of the day is yours to explore or swim at the hotel pool.

Hoi An

You'll stop at a local coffee shop to try traditional egg coffee or iced coconut coffee while watching the town bustle. The afternoon is free for your own exploring.

Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City
The morning in Hoi An is free, so you can browse the market for silk and locally made garments, or rent a bicycle to check out nearby lanes and beaches. Your leader has restaurant suggestions ready. In the afternoon you'll transfer to Danang airport and fly to Ho Chi Minh City. After checking in, you'll tour the city including the War Remnants Museum, then spend the evening at Cho Ben Thanh market exploring food stalls.

Ho Chi Minh City

Walking through widened sections with your leader, you'll learn how the tunnels held hospitals, homes, schools, and served as a military base. After returning to the city, you'll gather for a final dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh
You'll catch an unescorted flight to Phnom Penh, Cambodia and get met at the airport for transfer to your hotel. If you arrive with time to spare, walk around the French colonial architecture or visit the National Museum. This evening includes a second group meeting with your new leader, followed by dinner at Malis Restaurant serving traditional Cambodian cuisine. Optional cocktails await at Le Moon Rooftop.

Phnom Penh

Wat Phnom, the temple that founded the city in the 15th century, is worth seeing, as are the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. Dinner with your group or solo exploration of the nighttime city are both options.

Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
After breakfast, you'll travel from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap by private vehicle. At Skun Village, you'll discover traditional life including deep-fried tarantulas and local insects. Santuk Silk Farm shows how silk production works and employs local women as artisan weavers. Lunch is a simple meal prepared by the weavers, and you'll see historic bridges along the route. You'll reach your tropical resort around 5 pm, then head out for dinner and an Apsara Theatre show with Khmer traditional dance.

Siem Reap
You'll have the option to catch sunrise at Angkor if you're up for it, then spend the day with a private archaeological guide walking through the temple complex. Start at Angkor Wat and take time to understand the intricate carvings and layout before heading to Sala Bai Hotel School for lunch, where you'll eat food prepared by local youth training in hospitality roles. After lunch, head into Angkor Thom to see the massive stone faces carved into the gates and towers. Later you'll visit a working monastery where monks live and study, giving you a chance to learn about Theravada Buddhism directly from them. By evening you're free to relax at your hotel or wander into Siem Reap town to check out the bar scene if that appeals to you.

Siem Reap
After breakfast, you'll visit Ta Prohm temple with its large trees embedded in stone, symbols of nature's power. Next comes Banteay Srei to photograph intricate stone carvings. You can head back to the resort, explore Siem Reap town, or keep exploring the Angkor ruins with your included pass. Tonight brings a final farewell dinner in rural rice fields with your group in a rustic, romantic setting.
