What people love about touring Rajasthan solo
- Experience of North India
This is a tour I would highly recommend if you are interested in learning the history of India. There is so much to see and culture in North India. It is truly fascinating how one state is different from the other. I really loved it.
- Luxury Rajasthan Tour
Here is our feedback:- The whole trip in itself was amazing and we loved visiting the different cities. However, we felt that we had to highlight a few points as constructive criticism for your future clients:- Hotels:- Jaypee Vasant - Delhi - Excellent hotel but please pay attention to the money exchange. We exchanged £50 GBP and should have received 5,000 rupees but instead was given 500 rupees! It was corrected later in the day but it would have been an issue if we had already moved on to another city! Jaypee Palace Agra - Excellent hotel but the welcome drinks must have contained ice because we both were very ill afterwards. Sally was sick in the afternoon and then I was sick in the evening and it spoilt our sunset visit to the Taj Mahal. Radisson Hotel Jaipur - Excellent hotel but we did not eat there. (no money exchange at the hotel and they directed us to Thomas Cook across the road but this was the most expensive money exchange we experienced in India! Maybe good to warn your clients!) Deogarh Mahal - lovely hotel but unfortunately the swimming pool was green (no chlorine so water was turning bad!) Nice spa also. Justa Lake Nahargarh, Chittorgarh - this was a filthy hotel, very poor hygiene with the restaurant staff. The bathroom was filthy. Very basic meal and breakfast. I know we asked to change this hotel but the original hotel which we stopped off for lunch was even dirtier with a pool that looked more like a fish pond! Fateh Vilas - Udaipur - outstanding hotel. Fateh Safari - Kumbalgarh - again another outstanding hotel. Radisson Jodhpur - OK hotel but no outside seating and another dirty pool with pigeon feathers everywhere. I know it is not possible to prevent pigeons but it is possible to keep the pool clean. Marriott Hotel Jaisalmer - lovely and clean inside the hotel but outside looked very tired. Tiles missing from the bottom of the pool causing a health and safely issue. Gardens would have looked nicer if they had water in the fountains but they didn't and it looked very tired. Breakfast was outstanding and so were the staff. Narendar Bhawan - Bikaner - outstanding hotel - our most favourite one of the trip! Castle Mandawa - hotel was good but again, the pool was filthy and water had gone green and mouldy. Spa advertised but was disappointed to learn that it was not open due to lack of customers! This was a shame as there was not a great deal to do in this small city and we had been looking forward to some pampering at the end of our trip!. The Lalit Hotel Delhi - excellent hotel but we were not allowed to take drinks outside, even though this was OK for a man! Transport:- As you know, we had the same driver Umesh for the whole of the 18 day trip. He was an outstanding, brilliant and careful driver, he went out of his way to help with extra recommendations that were not part of the itinerary and we would have no hesitation on recommending him to others for the future. He really did look after us. This made our trip and we are very grateful to have had him. Guides:- All the guides were good with the exception of the one in Udaipur whose English was not brilliant and he was not very informative on the city. Thank you for organising this trip for us. I hope you will use the above advice wisely. As I said at the beginning, it was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime trip. We had saved up for this trip for a while and it was worth it. We would have no hesitation in recommending your services to friends and using you again in the future once we have saved some more money! Best wishes, Melanie

What our customers ask about Rajasthan Tours for Solo Travelers
What's the best time of year for solo travelers to visit Rajasthan?
The most favorable period runs from October to March when temperatures are moderate and cultural events fill the calendar. Data shows November and February attract the highest numbers of independent travelers. The Pushkar Camel Fair in November creates a particularly social atmosphere. A TourRadar reviewer noted: "Traveling in November meant perfect weather for sightseeing and lots of other solo travelers to connect with at festivals and markets."
Which cities in Rajasthan are most solo traveler-friendly?
Three cities stand out for their solo-friendly atmosphere: Udaipur Jaipur and Jodhpur. Each offers easily navigable historic centers with vibrant cafe scenes and bustling markets. The Lake Pichola area in Udaipur including Lal Ghat provides a safe environment for meeting fellow travelers while Jaipur's Pink City draws social visitors. One TourRadar reviewer shared: "Udaipur was especially great with its laid-back vibe and many places to meet fellow travelers."
What is the typical accommodation arrangement for solo travelers on Rajasthan tours?
Most tours provide stays at quality hotels such as Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur or Taj Vilas in Agra. Single rooms come with an extra fee though sharing with another solo traveler of the same gender is often available. Heritage properties like Hotel Mandawa Haveli feature social spaces in their courtyards and dining areas. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The heritage hotels were the perfect setting for socializing with other travelers in the evenings while experiencing authentic Rajasthani architecture."
What activities on Rajasthan tours are best for meeting other travelers?
The most social moments happen during shared experiences like camel rides through Jaisalmer cooking workshops in Udaipur and evening cultural shows. The communal nature of heritage hotel stays and group meals naturally brings people together. According to one TourRadar reviewer: "The jeep safari in Ranthambore and group dinner at Chokhi Dhani in Jaipur were highlights for bonding with fellow travelers over shared experiences."
What percentage of travelers on these Rajasthan tours are typically solo travelers?
Current booking data indicates 40-50% of Rajasthan tour participants travel alone. One major operator reports half their bookings come from solo travelers with an average age of 50. A TourRadar guest at Hotel Lilypool in Jaipur shared: "As a solo traveler I found plenty of like-minded people on the tour making the experience even more enriching."
How do guided tours help solo travelers navigate local customs and etiquette?
Tours create natural opportunities for connection through shared activities from camel treks in Jaisalmer to boat rides on Lake Pichola. Guides often become trusted companions as one TourRadar traveler explains: "Being a single lady traveler my driver Kamal became like a good friend to me. He was very friendly helpful and entertaining." Social bonds form naturally during meals market visits and cultural shows at venues like Chokhi Dhani while staying at properties such as Hotel Ross Mallow in Delhi.
