What people love about touring Kenya solo
- 6 Days Kenya Budget Tours (with Free Night at Nairobi Hotel)
What an amazing 6 Days Kenya Budget Tours we had with Bon Voyage Kenya safaris. Well organized safari from start to the end. I enjoyed every minute of it. The fellow passengers in the 6-day joining safari were all wonderful, we made some wonderful friendships along the way. Faith was amazing in answering all our questions.
- Kenya Camping Safari
My first time camping and I had a blast! David was a fantastic CEO: helpful, patient, informative and good natured. The people, places and animals I’ve seen will stay will me for a long time.
- Kenya Wildlife Safari
Overall, this was an extraordinary experience! Everything about this country beat my expectations. The people are proud of where they live and incredible (the friendliest of any country I’ve ever been to). The scenery is stunning, and driving anywhere you are constantly seeing something new, interesting and different. Traveling with a small group, in an overland truck and camping in tents is an affordable way to go on safari for anyone who wants to experience some of the greatest countries in Africa. There are plenty of other ways to see it – on private safari’s, in land cruisers, luxury tented camps and lodges, but camping in such a place just feels right. Go to Kenya!
What our customers ask about Kenya Tours for Solo Travelers
What accommodation options are available for solo travelers in Kenya tours?
Kenya's tour accommodations range from city hotels to wilderness camps with options for every budget. Places like the Tamarind Tree Hotel in Nairobi and AA Lodge in Amboseli National Park are common stops. Many tours pair same-gender solo travelers to share rooms helping avoid extra costs though private rooms are available for a fee. One TourRadar traveler notes: "The lodges were excellent especially Fig Tree Camp in Masai Mara with superb staff and an excellent chef."
What's the best time of year for solo travelers to visit Kenya?
The Great Migration draws most visitors to Kenya from July to October when group tours are plentiful and the social scene is at its peak. Another popular window runs through January and February during the dry season when wildlife is easy to spot. TourRadar data shows September and October lead in solo safari bookings with many travelers choosing these months for their Kenya adventure.
How much free time do solo travelers get on Kenya safari tours?
A 6-8 day safari gives you enough time to see Kenya's highlights while getting to know your travel group. Popular routes like the Kenya Classic fit key spots such as Masai Mara Lake Nakuru and Amboseli into a week-long journey. One TourRadar traveler notes: "Our 6-day wilderness trek was perfect - enough time to see everything while really getting to know our fellow travelers and create lasting friendships."
Which areas of Kenya are most recommended for solo travelers?
The Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru stand out for solo travel thanks to their well-developed tourism setup and social atmosphere. Camps like Sentrim Mara in the Masai Mara offer group meals and shared game drives. At Lake Nakuru lodges such as Sarova Lion Hill you'll find organized activities and welcoming common spaces. A TourRadar traveler shares: "The Masai Mara was amazing - our group bonded quickly over shared wildlife sightings and evening sundowners."
Do I need to be particularly outgoing to enjoy a solo Kenya safari?

At places like Enchoro Wildlife Camp in Masai Mara safari vehicles seat 6-7 guests giving everyone a window seat for wildlife watching. A TourRadar traveler shares: "I did a 7-day safari in Kenya and had so much fun. I joined the group alone but felt at ease with others and the guide Max."
