From Bordeaux we picked up our bikes/ e-bikes and by train reached west to ride along the Atlantic coast. Moderate hills and 45 miles for the first day gave us understanding of our group capabilities. The two other days were among coastal beautiful pines with straight roads, later switched to oysters farms and to vineries. One night we stayed at Bordeaux to later reach the central part of the France by train: Dordogne. Here is the historical beauty and some hills come. Each days were very unique to stay in old but modernised buildings, swam in clean river (we crossed it several times), And of course, pedal to reach the next town! At the end of the fifth day we were quite tired, so the relaxing canoe trip for 3 hours was the rewards! A little more ride to Sarlac and once again- the XVI century town and comfortable hotel. French food is above any of our expectation, châteaus, vinery tour, rides by quiet roads through fields and along the river- double and interesting tour. Leaders are helpful and knowledgeable. Friendly chatting and sharing relaxing time during diners.

Self guided cycle tour. The gps app was easy to use and kept us on track. The route was certainly hilly but we two 70+ coped without problems. The dinners were very good with a preponderance of duck and foie gras.

This trip was the holiday and adventure of a life time. It was perfect - the canoe provided with maps, luggage transported and hotels booked. The hotels were varied but all were wonderful and the staff friendly. The dinners were out of this world. The river was SO peaceful, and the 20km days passed in a flash. The instructions/maps could be a bit clearer, particularly instructions of where to pull in and how to get the the hotel. No rapids were mentioned, but we went over at least 10 sets a day - most very easy to navigate. We were very lucky with the fabulous warm weather and the river was low which made it much easier to manage as well. I loved every minute of it all. Thank you. I'd love to return with my family.
